of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of
maintaining thereon 18 beacons as shown on the said plan, such
licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject
to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS
(1) This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960 and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far
as applicable, apply hereto.
(2) The beacons shall be to size, shape, and colours as
determined by the Secretary for Marine and shall be maintained in accordance with his requirements.
(3) Co-ordinates shall be fixed for each beacon and each
shall remain in the said position unless otherwise expressly
authorised by the Secretary for Marine.
(4) The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st
day of December 1971.
(5) The annual sum so payable by the licensee shall be 10c
on demand.

The Motor Launch (Tongaporutu River) Notice 1971—Clifton
County Council
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the
Minister of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following
notice:
- (a) The notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Tongaporutu River) Notice 1971—Clifton County Council.
(b) The notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until
further notice.
- Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule
hereto regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations
1962 shall not apply with respect to the area described in the
First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION
All that area of water in the Tongaporutu River bounded on
the sides by right lines generally 55 yd apart and between a
line across the river 484 yd downstream of the State highway
bridge and a line across the river being in line with the common side boundaries between Lots 5 and 6, D.P. 8357, being part Mohakatino Parininihi No. 2, Block IV, Mimi Survey
District, and as more particularly defined on plan M.D. 14451.
SECOND SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS
-
Bathing and fishing prohibited within the reserved area.
-
No craft shall be driven at speeds greater than 5 miles per
hour when:
(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel.
(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water.

Orange buoys shall be placed at all corners of the area
and on the straight stretches at intervals not exceeding 150 yd.
In addition suitable notice boards shall be placed on the bridge
where the area passes under the road bridge, defining the outer limits of the area. -
The area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be
shown on a plan, which shall be displayed on the lower portion
of a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft,
painted orange with black lettering, which notice board shall
be erected at the places where boats are normally launched. -
The upper portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice:
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
There is no speed restrictions for motor launches and
water skiers using the area shown on the plan below.
Bathers Keep Out"

The Motor Launch (Lake Te Anau) Notice 1971—Fiordland
National Park Board
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister
of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake
Te Anau) Notice 1971.
(b) The notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until
further notice.
- Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule
hereto regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations
1962 shall not apply with respect to the areas described in the
First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
-
All that area of water at Bluegum Point, Lake Te Anau,
extending 200 yd from the water's edge, bounded by lines whose
shore ends are 100 yd apart, the eastern boundary commencing
1 chain westward of the western side of the boat harbour
entrance and extending in a 194° 20' true direction and the
north-western boundary extending in a 252° 30' true direction. -
All that area of water at Brod's Bay, Lake Te Anau,
extending 200 yd from the water's edge bounded by parallel
lines 200 yd apart, extending in a 46° true direction, the eastern
boundary commencing 75 yd east from where Ernie's Creek
touches the shore. -
All that area of water at Dock Bay, Lake Te Anau, extending 200 yd from the water's edge, bounded by parallel lines
160 yd apart, the eastern boundary extending in a 165° true
direction from a point on the lake shore 210 yd west of Dock
Bay Point.
SECOND SCHEDULE
THE access lanes shall be marked as follows:
-
Two 8-ft transit posts, with a distance of not less than
10 ft or more than 20 ft between, and painted with 12-in. bright
orange and black bands, shall be erected on land in line with
each side of the access lanes, the first post being sited on the
lake margin. -
On each of the transit posts sited on the lake margin there
shall be fastened, in line with the sides of the access lane, a
notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted
bright orange with black lettering in the following form:
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
Access lane through which motor launches and water
skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per
hour.
Bathers Keep Out"
- Where practical marker buoys, either barrel, drum, or
spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black
stripe, shall be moored 200 yd from the lake margin in line
with each set of transit posts.

Declaring Area Exempted from Portions of the Motor Launch
Regulations 1962
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister
of Marine and Fisheries hereby declares that until further
notice regulation 11 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962
shall not apply on the area of water described in the Schedule
hereto provided that: (i) a speed of 5 miles per hour is not exceeded when passing within 100 ft of any vessel under way
or moored or any person bathing or fishing, unless for reasons
of safety due to water depth, or current, it would be dangerous
not to exceed that speed, and (ii) any vessel travelling down
stream has the right of way on a rapid and any vessel proceeding up stream shall give way.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water of the Wanganui River up stream of
a line across the river bearing 134° true from the southern
corner of the Raorikia Native Reserve.
