purpose of purchasing land and erecting accommodation for

Copy of resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on
Monday, 14 December 1970:

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $44,600 authorised to be raised by the Dunedin City
Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
repaying on maturity that portion of the Gasworks Development Loan 1958 of $600,000 which matures on 15 March 1971,
the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes a special rate of
0.0104 of a cent in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value of
all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the
whole of the City of Dunedin, and that the special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan,
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and
every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of
ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

$12,150 authorised to be raised by the Invercargill City Council
under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting
additional costs of erecting accommodation for old people, the
said Invercargill City Council hereby makes a special rate of
decimal nought nought two cents (.002c) in the dollar on the
rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all
rateable property in the City of Invercargill, and that the said
special rate shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of February
in each year and every year during the currency of the loan,
being a period of 40 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Peninsula (Smelter Site) Access Supplementary Loan 1970”,
authorised to be raised by the Southland County Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing
the purpose of the “Tiwai Peninsula (Smelter Site) Access
Loan 1968”, the Southland County Council hereby makes a
special rate of 0.0038 of a cent in the dollar upon the rateable
value of all rateable property in the County of Southland, and
that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during

AUCKLAND REGIONAL AUTHORITY

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Auckland Regional Authority in exercise of the powers
vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963,
section 42, and in pursuance of the authority conferred on it
under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and in exercise
of all other powers enabling it on that behalf doth hereby
resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special
order to borrow the sum of $650,000 as a special loan, to be
known as Bulk Water Supply Loan No. 18, 1968, $2,000,000—
Second Issue, $650,000, for the purposes of and incidental to
the upgrading of the northern and western transmission mains
of the bulk water supply system.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting
of the Auckland Regional Authority convened for that
purpose, and held on 16 November 1970, and confirmed at an
ordinary meeting of the said authority held on 14 December
1970, having meantime been advertised in the Auckland Star
on 21 November 1970 and 5 December 1970.
