The Standards Act 1965—Australian Standards Available for Comment


PURSUANT to sections 17 and 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the Australian standards listed in the Schedule hereto are being considered for declaration as New Zealand standard specifications or for endorsement as being suitable for use in New Zealand. All persons who may be affected by them and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington.

Requests should specify that copies are required for comment purposes.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 31 December 1970.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 194—Public Inquiry into Import Duties and Import Licensing Affecting Writing Ink, Printing Ink and Other Inks of Tariff Heading 32.13


  1. In its interim report No. 95, arising from an inquiry concerning the proposed elimination of the margins by which the duties on certain inks when imported from Australia exceed those applicable to the same inks when imported from any other source, the Board recommended, inter alia, that the inquiry should be reopened in April 1971, with terms of reference widened to cover the questions of tariff levels and import licensing provisions in respect of all the inks of Tariff heading 32.13, as set out in the Schedule to this notice. This recommendation was accepted by Government.

  2. Accordingly the Board will conduct a public inquiry in the Boardroom, First Floor, Law Society Building, 26 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, on Tuesday, 6 April 1971, commencing at 10.30 a.m.

  3. Any person who intends to tender evidence should lodge 12 copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence, to be presented under oath at the public inquiry, at the Board’s office no later than Monday, 22 March 1971. In preparing this evidence the “Notes for Guidance of Witnesses” prepared by the Board may be of assistance. Copies of these notes may be obtained from the Board’s office.
