PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
- (1) This order may be cited as the Hobson, Whangarei, Bay of Islands, and Mangonui-Whangaroa Acclimatisation Districts Alteration Order 1970.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Hobson, Whangarei, Bay of Islands, and Mangonui-Whangaroa Acclimatisation Districts which were defined by Warrant on the 4th day of March 1925 (N.Z. Gazette of 12 March 1925), are hereby altered and shall from the commencement of this order be those described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
HOBSON ACCLIMATISATION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the sea coast of the Tasman Sea with the 6,750 chain north perpendicular of Mount Eden in Block I, Waipoua Survey District, and proceeding easterly generally along that perpendicular to and along the generally northern boundaries of Sections 22, 21, 20, and 19, Block VIII, Waipoua Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across Waoku Road to and along the western, southern, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 10, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along a right line across the Donnellys Crossing, Kaikohe Road, to and along the generally south-western boundary of Section 17, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to and north-easterly along the left bank of the Waiokumurau Stream, to its intersection in Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, with a right line joining the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Punakitere Survey District, with Trig. Station Tutamoe No. 2 situated in Block XV, Tutamoe Survey District; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned line to the aforesaid Trig, and north-easterly along another right line in the direction of Trig. Station No. 18 (Te Tarahiorahiri) situated in Block V, Mangakahia Survey District, to its junction with the south-western boundary of Lot 26, Deeds Plan W 55, situated in Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District; thence south-easterly along the generally south-western boundaries of Lot 26 aforesaid, and Lots 23 and 22, D.P. 12413, and along the south-eastern boundary of that Lot 22, and its production across Karaka Road, to and southerly along the eastern side of that road to the southernmost corner of Lot 11, Deeds Plan W 55; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that Lot 11, to and south-easterly generally along the western boundary of Section 8, Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District, and the generally south-western boundaries of Sections 8A, 39, and 43, Block X, Mangakahia Survey District, to the western side of the Parakao-Kirikopuni Road; thence along the north-eastern boundary of an area 1 acre 2 roods 31 perches shown coloured blue on Survey Office Plan 24213, to and along the southern side of a public road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 2, 25, 26, 24, and the generally northern boundaries of Sections 13, 17, and 14, Block XIV, Mangakahia Survey District, crossing intervening public roads to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 24993; thence easterly generally along that line crossing the Houto Road to and along the last-mentioned boundary, the southern boundaries of Sections 10, 9, and 8, all in Block XV, Mangakahia Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary, produced to and southerly generally down the middle of the Mangakahia River and the middle of the Wairoa River to the confluence with the Tangihua River in Block IV, Maungaru Survey District; thence easterly generally up the middle of the Tangihua River and the middle of the Waiotama River to a point in line with the middle line of Section 23, Block I, Tangihua Survey District (formerly closed road shown on Survey Office Plan 20264); thence southerly and westerly along the aforesaid middle line and the middle line of Tangihua Mountain Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 7A, Block I, Tangihua Survey District; thence southerly generally to and along the north-western boundaries of Sections 7A and 7 of the said Block I, crossing the intervening public road, the western boundaries of Sections 16, 15, and 14, all of Block III, Tangihua Survey District, to the Horokaka Trig. Station; thence along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Waltons Grant No. 1A, situated in Block VII, Tangihua Survey District; thence easterly along the production of the northern boundary of 1A aforesaid to and southerly down the middle of the stream forming the eastern boundary of the said 1A, to and south-easterly down the middle of the Tauraroa River to its junction with the middle of the Manganui River in Block XVI, Maungaru Survey District; thence southerly and easterly generally up the middle of the Manganui River to its junction in Block II, Matakohe Survey District, with the production of the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 276, Tauraroa Parish; thence north-easterly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 276, 277, 51, and 63 Tauraroa Parish, Allotment 1, Waikiekie Parish, Lot 2, D.P. 11290, Lot 1, D.P. 39674, Allotments 61, 243, 68, 159, 157, 156, 155, and 198, Waikiekie Parish to the easternmost corner Lot 1, D.P. 26076, situated in Blocks XV and XVI, Tangihua Survey District, and crossing intervening public roads and the Newmarket-Opua railway; thence south-easterly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 26076, and Allotment 87, Mareretu Parish, crossing the intervening public road and along the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern side of another public road; thence southerly generally along the eastern side of that public road forming the generally western boundaries of Sections 7, 2, 3, and 6, Block I, Waipu Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 3, Block IV, Waipu Survey District, and along the generally southern boundaries of Sections 3 and 4 of the aforesaid Block IV, the southern boundaries of Allotments 211A and 369, Waipu Parish, the south-western boundary of Allotment 370, Waipu Parish, and along a right line across a public road to the easternmost corner of Allotment 403, Waipu Parish; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned allotment to its intersection with the production of the western boundary of Allotment 317, Waipu Parish; thence to and along the western boundary of Allotment 317 aforesaid, to the western side of the Waipu Gorge Road, in Block V, Waipu Survey District; thence south-westerly and easterly, generally along the north-western and southern sides of that road and the southern sides of State Highway No. 12 and Brynderwyn Road to its junction in Block X, Waipu Survey District, with the western side of State Highway No. 1; thence due east across that highway, to and northerly along the eastern side of the highway, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of Allotment 150, Kaiwaka Parish, to and south-easterly generally along the southern and western sides of a public road forming the generally northern and eastern boundaries of Allotments 111, 112, 97, 98, 99, 100, 83, 82, and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 82, all the aforesaid allotments of Kaiwaka Parish, and continuing westerly generally along the northern side of Tramline Road in Block XIV, Waipu Survey District, to and southerly along the generally western side of State Highway No. 1 to the intersection in Block VII, Otamatea Survey District, with the middle of the Hakaru River; thence south-westerly generally down the middle of the Hakaru, Topuni, Oruawharo, and Wairoa Rivers to a point midway between Kaipara Heads at the entrance to the Kaipara Harbour; thence, north-westerly along the sea coast of the Tasman Sea crossing the mouths of all harbours and inlets to the point of commencement.
WHANGAREI ACCLIMATISATION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing in Block V, Mangawhai Survey District, on the sea coast of the South Pacific Ocean, at the midpoint of the entrance to the Mangawhai Harbour, and proceeding south-easterly generally up the middle of the Mangawhai River, and the Mangawhai Stream to a point in Block I, Pakiri Survey District, in line with the southern boundary of Allotment 31, Mangawhai Parish; thence easterly to and along the southern boundary of Allotment 31 aforesaid, to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 16 and E 78, and along the southern boundary of Allotment E 78, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Allotment 50; thence across Cames Road to and along the eastern boundary of Allotment 50 aforesaid to its southernmost corner; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Allotments 50, 51, 56, 57, 60, 61, Lots 2, 4, and 3, D.P. 43583 and Allotment 65, all the aforesaid allotments of Mangawhai Parish, crossing and recrossing the intervening Valley Road and crossing the intervening Pritchards Road, and along the production of the said southern boundary of Allotment 65 to the middle of
