Plant Declared Noxious Weed in the Borough of Morrinsville
(Notice No. Ag. 10719)

PURSUANT to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture Act 1953, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the special order made by the Morrinsville Borough Council on the 20th day of October 1970, is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Morrinsville Borough Council acting in pursuance of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 hereby resolves, by way of special order to declare the following plant to be a noxious weed within the Borough of Morrinsville.

Woolly nightshade (Solanum auriculatum).

The Road Classification (Waimate West County) Notice No. 1, 1970

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1969*, the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Waimate West County) Notice No. 1, 1970.

  2. The proposal of the Waimate West County Council to classify all the roads within its control as Class Two is hereby approved.

  3. The Warrants dated 5 December 1969¹, 28 November 1967², 29 August 1967³, 17 November 1964⁴, 10 December 1958⁵, and 6 October 1950⁶, which relate to the classification of the roads described in Clause 2 hereof are hereby revoked.

The Road Classification (Wanganui County) Notice No. 2, 1970

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1969*, the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Wanganui County) Notice No. 2, 1970.

  2. The Wanganui County Council's proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.

  3. So much of the Warrant dated the 3rd day of June 1969† which relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for a Certain Vehicle

PURSUANT to regulation 39 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of two revolving yellow or amber lights to a Commer vehicle, Registration No. F.M. 7069, owned and operated by the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board. This approval is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The vehicle shall be painted a conspicuous colour.

  2. The lights shall be used only while the vehicle is stationary at the site of a traffic hazard such as broken electricity transmission lines.

  3. Suitable and adequate warning signs shall be provided as soon as possible after the occurrence of the hazard.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956

PURSUANT to regulation 49 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of the said regulations, red reflectors of the makes and types described in the Schedule hereto.

Provided that for heavy motor vehicles being goods-service vehicles the reflectors shall be at least 2½ inches in diameter as specified by subclause 4 of regulation 41 of the said regulations.

SCHEDULE

  1. Reflex reflectors meeting the British standard AU40 and permanently marked as follows:

(a) Registered trade name or trade mark of the manufacturer;

(b) The word "TOP" if such an indication is necessary to determine the mounting position recommended by the manufacturer; and

(c) The letters and numerals "AU 40 L" followed by a Roman numeral I, IA, or II as appropriate.

  1. Reflex reflectors bearing the markings specified by the Economic Commission for Europe, namely

(a) A circle surrounding the letter "E" followed by a number identifying the country which has granted the approval;

(b) An approval number; and

(c) A Roman numeral, either I or II, showing the class to which the reflector has been approved.

  1. Reflex reflectors meeting the performance standards specified by the Society of Automotive Engineers, U.S.A., in their standard SAE J 594 and marked "SAE Class A" or "SAE Class B".
