PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Massey University Loan 1966, $180,000—Second Instalment of $90,000

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby resolve as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of ninety thousand dollars ($90,000), authorised to be raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making a grant to the Massey University of the Manawatu for the erection of halls of residence and facilities at the university, the said Palmerston North City Council hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and thirty-seven ten-thousandths of a cent (0.0137c) in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Palmerston North, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Palmerston North City Council on the 28th day of September 1970.

PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pensioner Cottages Loan No. 4, 1970

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Paparua County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of $25,000 to be known as the Pensioner Cottages Loan No. 4, 1970, authorised to be raised by the Paparua County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of financing the Council's share of the cost of constructing pensioners cottages at Hornby, the said Paparua County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.0014493 cents in the dollar upon the capital value of all rateable property in the Paparua County, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

COUNTY OF AKITIO

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

Public Notification of Akitio County District Scheme

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that pursuant to a resolution of the Council made on the 13th day of October 1969, a district scheme has been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. The scheme relates to the whole of the County of Akitio. The scheme has been deposited in the County office in accordance with section 22 (1) of that Act and is there open for inspection, without fee, to all persons interested therein at any time when the above place is open to the public.

Objections to the scheme or to any part thereof shall be in writing in form E prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than Thursday, 7 January 1971. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the County Clerk, in writing, within the period of which public notice will be given.

NORTHLAND CATCHMENT COMMISSION

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the Hikurangi Swamp Special Rating Area, taken on 26 September 1970 on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $450,000, to be known as the Hikurangi Swamp Major Scheme Loan 1970, for the purpose of meeting the local share of the cost of flood control and drainage works in the Hikurangi Swamp Catchment, resulted as follows:

Votes

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 310

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 144

The number of informal votes was 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan No. 4, 1970—$50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and any amendments thereto the Paparua County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of $50,000 to be known as the Rural Housing Loan No. 4, 1970, authorised to be raised by the Paparua County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to farmers under the provisions of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Paparua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.0000333 cents in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) on all rateable properties comprised within the boundaries of the Paparua County, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of up to 35 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF APPROVAL OF SCHEME VARYING DISPOSITION OF CHARITABLE TRUST

PURSUANT to section 54 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, notice is hereby given that a scheme, under Part III of the Act prepared by the Palmerston North Hospital Board varying the disposition of the property and income of the Jane Emily Brown Estate Charitable Trust, such scheme being filed in the Supreme Court at Palmerston North under M. 48/70, was approved by the Supreme Court at Palmerston North on the 2nd day of October 1970.
