rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely—such of the provisions of

(a) the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954 and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder;

(b) the Shops and Offices Act 1955; and

(c) the Factories Act 1946

as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime or extended hours, or to holidays and half holidays, or to the closing of shops.

SCHEDULE

  1. Forty hours shall constitute a week’s work, to be worked on 5 days of the week, and 8 hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition, and, with the exception set out in clause 2 thereof, the daily hours shall be worked consecutively.

  2. No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than 4 hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

  3. (a) Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than 8 hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m., or on any day in excess of 5 days per week (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first 2 hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter.

(b) Any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act or of any reward or industrial agreement shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than twice the ordinary rate, whether the work is performed wholly in or about the exhibition or otherwise: Provided that nothing in this sub-clause shall be deemed to deprive any person of any other payment for the said holiday to which he is entitled under any Act or award or industrial agreement.

  1. No male under 18 years of age and no female shall be employed in or about the exhibition after the hour of 10.30 p.m.

  2. For the purposes of the enforcement of an award or industrial agreement any provision of which has been suspended by this order, any officer of the industrial union or association concerned who is authorised in writing in that behalf by the union or association shall be entitled to interview at his place of employment any person employed in or about the exhibition under that award or industrial agreement at such time or times as may be agreed upon between the officer and the employer of that person; and, for this purpose, any such officer shall be entitled at any time to have access to the register of passes issued by the promoter.

  3. Nothing in this notice shall be deemed to affect any provisions in an award or industrial agreement requiring workers subject to the award or industrial agreement to be members of a union.

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical Services for the Residents of Tolaga Bay and Surrounding District

———

PURSUANT to section 117 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Health has made special arrangements whereby all persons for the time being resident in the district described in the Schedule hereto who are entitled to claim benefits under Part II of that Act shall be entitled to receive, free of charge, at the hands of any registered medical practitioner who is employed or engaged by the Cook Hospital Board or who is providing relief for such persons pursuant to a contract made with the said Board under section 78 of the Hospitals Act 1957, general medical services as defined in section 88 (1) of the Social Security Act, 1964.

These special arrangements are in addition to the benefits provided by Part II of the Social Security Act 1964.

Provided that no person may receive from the Department of Health, under that Act, any payment in respect of any service or requirement given or supplied pursuant to the arrangements.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, Counties of Cook and Waiapu, bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Waiomoko River in Block X, Whangara Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly generally up the middle of that river and up the middle of the Otawaiwai Stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3718, to and along that boundary, and the southern and western boundaries of part Section 1, and the western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Whangara Survey District, along the south-western boundaries of Lots 8, and 9, D.P. 2342, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangarara Stream, up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 7, Block XVI, Waingaromia Survey District, to and along that boundary, and its production to the middle of the Waimata Hokoroa Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XII, Waingaromia Survey District, to and along that boundary and the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 5, Block XII, Waingaromia Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Waimata Hokoroa Road, along the middle of that road to its junction with a public road forming the northern boundary of Section 3, Block VII, Waingaromia Survey District, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1104, to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Waingaromia River, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block II, Waingaromia Survey District, to and along that boundary and the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section and its production to the middle of the Mangatuamaru Stream, up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Tutamoe Survey District, to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Lot 12, D.P. 2047, Lots 7, and 4, D.P. 2230, the north-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 2228, and its production across a public road to and along the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block VI, Tutamoe Survey District, and its production across a public road to and along the north-western boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 2228, and Lot 1, D.P. 2227, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mata River; thence south-easterly generally down the middle of that river to and up the middle of the Mangamaunu Stream to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. 2115, to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 9, D.P. 2115, Lot 3A, D.P. 2128, and Lot 3, D.P. 2785, to the northernmost point of Lot 14, D.P. 3393, along a right line bearing 200° 29′ distance 17000 links, bearing 78° distance 4500 links, bearing 87° distance 2250 links, bearing 118° 30′ distance 11800 links, bearing 135° distance 1600 links, bearing 93° distance 7500 links, bearing 189° 30′ distance 6600 links, bearing 254° 30′ distance 4500 links to a point on the eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. 1104, approximately 5 chains north of the westernmost point of Lot 18, D.P. 3426, along the eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. 1104, crossing an intervening public road four times, to the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XIII, Tokomaru Survey District, along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 1990, being a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block XIII, Tokomaru Survey District; thence north-easterly generally to and along the last-mentioned boundary to its northern extremity, along a right line bearing 352° distance 8400 links, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 19, D.P. 3395, to Trig. Station 171, Puakato, in Block XIII, Tokomaru Survey District, due east to the western boundary of part Tauwhareparae No. 3 Block, along that boundary and the western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 1236, across a public road, again along the western boundary of the aforementioned part Lot 1 and its production to the middle of the Mangaroa Stream, down the middle of that stream and down the middle of the Hikuwai River to a point in line with the north-western boundary of part Taumata-Patiti No. 4 Block, to and along that boundary, crossing an intervening public road, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Nuhihi C 1b Block, the north-eastern boundary of Nuhihi C 1a Block, and its production across a public road to the sea coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement, including Pourewa Island. As shown on the plan marked 216/9/6 deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Health at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

This notice is in substitution for the notice dated 17 January 1947, published in the Gazette, 30 January 1947, Vol. I, p. 89.
