Maori Land Development Notice

WHEREAS, by virtue of the notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto the land described in those notices were declared to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953; and whereas, it is desired to release certain parcels of those lands from the provisions of the said Part XXIV:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Christchurch 1970, No. 7.

  2. The notices referred to in the First Schedule hereto are hereby revoked.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Cancelling Maori Reservation

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated 15 June 1949, and published in Gazette, 23 June 1949, No. 38, p. 1396, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto was set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use of the Ngaituranga Hapu of the Tuhoe tribe:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 439 (5) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 such reservation is hereby cancelled.

Land in the Gisborne Land District Acquired as Permanent State Forest Land

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired, under the Forests Act 1949, as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY—WAIROA COUNTY

Lot 1, D.P. 5114, being part Section 18, Block XIII, Taramarama Survey District: area, 161 acres and 16 perches, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 1A, folio 495.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan numbered N. 105/2 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service.

ALL that area in the Opotiki and Waiapu Counties, situated in Blocks X, XI, XII, XIV, XV, and XVI Raukumara East Survey District and being:

Firstly: Honokawa 1B Block: area, 117 acres and 3 roods. All certificate of title, Volume 117, folio 76.

Secondly: Section 1, Block XVI, Raukumara Survey District, Honokawa No. 5 Block, Lots 3 and 5, D.P. 2663, and Lots 5 and 6, D.P. 3704, being parts Honokawa Block, Lot 2, D.P. 3704, being part Raparapaririki Block, and Lot 4, D.P. 3704, being part Tapuaeroa 2C Block: area: 9,807 acres 1 rood and 7 perches, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 117, folio 23.

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan N. 71/2 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon edged orange and red respectively.

Special Order Made by Bay of Islands County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Bay of Islands County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956 and all other powers in that behalf enabling, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby resolves by way of special order, as follows:

  1. That the present division of the County of Bay of Islands into 10 ridings is revoked and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into 11 ridings, to be called respectively Towai Riding, Tautoro Riding, Mataraua Riding, Kawakawa Riding, Pakaraka Riding, Waimate Riding, Waitangi Riding, Russell Riding, Okaihau Riding, Kerikeri Riding, and Purerua Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The said Bay of Islands County Council shall consist of 11 members who shall be elected as follows:

The electors of each Riding shall elect one councillor.

  1. The alteration hereby made shall take effect from the date of gazetting hereof.
