recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable
half yearly on the 1st days of June and December of each and
every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of
twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
properly constituted meeting of the Otago Central Electric
Power Board held on the 26th day of August 1970.

HELENSVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Helensville Borough Council in exercise of the powers
vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
amendments thereto, and in exercise of all powers enabling
it on that behalf, doth hereby resolve, by special resolution
intended to operate as a special order, as follows:

  1. That the number of councillors on the Helensville Borough
    Council be increased from six to eight.

  2. That the special order shall have effect as from 18
    September 1970.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting
of the Helensville Borough Council convened for that purpose
and held on 5 August 1970, and confirmed at a special meeting
of the said Council held on 3 September 1970, having meantime
been advertised in the Helensville Leader, on 19 August and
2 September 1970.

FEATHERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLVED BY WAY OF SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, the Council hereby amends the following bylaw:

“Billiard Room By-Law—NZSS 791 Part V Clause 510.”

Councillors Saba, McKerrow:

That, for the purpose of amending the bylaw governing the
entry of persons to a billiard room, clause 510 of the Billiard
Room Bylaw be amended to read:

“No male person under the age of 16 years and no female
person of any age shall enter or remain in any billiard
room and no keeper of any billiard room shall permit,
suffer, or allow to enter therein such person:

Provided that this provision shall not apply to the case
of any person who shall be proved by the keeper to be,
bona fide, a paid servant in his employ, or to be a
member of his family.”

That, the foregoing resolution be submitted for confirmation
at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on the 15th
day of October 1970.

That, the Town Clerk take the necessary steps to advertise
the Special Order.

That, His Worship the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorised
to sign and seal any document pertaining to the said
amendment.

Carried.

The Common Seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens
of the Borough of Featherston is hereunto affixed pursuant to
a resolution in Council dated 25 August 1970.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

BAPTIST UNION INCORPORATION AMENDMENT BILL

THE Baptist Union of New Zealand hereby gives notice that it
intends to apply for leave to bring in the above-mentioned
Private Bill during the present session in Parliament.

The objects of the Bill are to amend the Baptist Union
Incorporation Act 1923 (hereinafter called “the principal Act”)
by:

  1. Inserting a definition of the Council of the Union.
  2. Amending the provisions regulating the use of the
    Common Seal of the Union.
  3. Empowering the Union to amalgamate the investment of its
    trust funds.
  4. Empowering the Union to join with any other Christian
    denomination in establishing and maintaining any charitable
    institution and empowering the Union to transfer property to
    any such institution.
  5. Removing doubts as to the trusts upon which the Union
    holds certain properties.
  6. Empowering the Union to declare land vested in it to be
    held on certain trusts for individual churches of the Union.
  7. Altering the provisions in the Sixth Schedule to the princi-
    pal Act in the cases where churches on whose behalf land is
    held in trust shall be dissolved, dispersed, or reduced in number
    or shall desire to dissolve or to amalgamate with another
    church, and making consequential amendments thereto.

The promoter of the Bill is the Baptist Union of New
Zealand. Communications or notices to the promoter may be

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

J. R. MCKENZIE TRUST AMENDMENT BILL

An Act to Amend the J. R. McKenzie Trust Act 1947

NOTICE is hereby given that Roy Allan McKenzie of Welling-
ton, chartered accountant, and one of the trustees of the Board
of Trustees of the J. R. McKenzie Trust intends to apply for
leave to bring into the House of Representatives, during the
present session of Parliament, the above intituled Bill. The
objects of the proposed Bill are to empower the said Board
of Trustees to accumulate a portion not exceeding 20 percentum
of the net annual income of the trust funds and to treat
as capital such dividends received by it which are declared by
the company making the same to be paid out of capital
reserves and/or profits made on the sale or realisation of
capital assets.

The Bill is promoted by the said Roy Allan McKenzie whose

Commission has approved a final area scheme for the Welling-
