Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block IV, Tongariro
Survey District, Taumarunui County for Post Office Purposes
(Repeater Station)
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions
of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public
work, namely, the construction of a telephonic repeater station,
and for the purposes of that public work the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the post office at Turangi, and is there
open for inspection; that all persons affected by the execution
of the said public work or by the taking of the said land
should, if they have any objections to the execution of the said
public work, or to the taking of the said land, not being
objections to the amount or payment of compensation, set
forth the same in writing, and send the written objection,
within 40 days of the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington; and that if any objection is
made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the
objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires,
and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the
hearing.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 12.5 perches situated in
Block IV, Tongariro Survey District, Wellington R.D., being
part Okahukura 5B; as the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked M.O.W. 24411 (S.O. 27104) deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured orange. (Land required for a post office repeater hut
site at Tongariro National Park.)

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Sherwood Hills
Ltd., by the Use of Water
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by
Sherwood Hills Ltd., of Tirau, by the use of water, subject
to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS
-
The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations
1934, to be implied in every licence to use water for the
purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed
to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence. -
This consent is subject to compliance with the Water
Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference
Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in
amendment of, or in substitution for, any of those regulations,
as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it
were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928, to use water
for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent
under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the
use of water. -
The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant
to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works
described in the Schedule hereto. -
This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
continue in force until the 31st day of March 1985. -
This consent confers no rights to water under the Water
and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise. -
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating
capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 12kW. -
In respect of the State forest land described in the consent
the holder of the consent shall comply with and cause all
persons acting by, for, or on behalf of the said holder to
comply with the provisions of the Forests Act 1949 and the
Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, and all regulations, orders,
and notices thereunder and all statutes, regulations, and rules
of law and shall strictly observe and comply with all con-
ditions and restrictions which may from time to time be im-
posed by the Conservator of Forests, Rotorua, for safeguard-
ing the forest against fire or any other damage of any nature
whatsoever. -
The said holder shall be liable for all damage (the
amount whereof shall include all costs of fire-fighting and
suppression and shall be as assessed by the Minister) done
by fire on the said State forest land or on adjacent State forest
land in consequence of any negligence or failure to observe
the aforesaid conditions by or on the part of the said holder
or any person acting by, for, or on behalf of the said holder
as aforesaid.
REVOCATION
This consent is issued in place of a licence issued to
Raymond Douglas McIntyre, of Tirau, by an Order in Council
dated the 21st day of November 1966, and appearing in the
Gazette on the 8th day of December 1966, at page 2034, which
licence is consequentially revoked.
SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
(a) Headworks consisting of a weir and intake with a
water-race and pipeline leading to the power house giving
a static head of approximately 140 ft.
(b) A Pelton wheel and power house with all necessary
equipment for generating electricity, situated in State Forest
3, Block 1, Patetere North-east Survey District.
(c) A tail-race leading from the power house back to the
Waiomou Stream.
As shown on the plan marked NZED 800, deposited in the
office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Licensing Sherwood Hills Ltd., Tirau, to Erect and Use
Electric Lines
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby licenses Sherwood Hills Ltd., of Tirau,
subject to the following conditions, to lay, construct, put up,
place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule
hereto.
CONDITIONS
-
This licence is subject to compliance with the Electrical
Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations
1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all
regulations made in amendment of or in substitution for any
of those regulations. -
The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs
(d) and (j) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regula-
tions 1967. The system of supply authorised under paragraph
(j) shall be a single conductor earth return system. The
normal rated pressure of the transmission lines shall be
6,600 volts. -
This licence shall unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
continue in force until the 31st day of March 1985. -
In respect of the State forest land described in the licence
the holder of the licence shall comply with and cause all
persons acting by, for, or on behalf of the said holder to
comply with the provisions of the Forests Act 1949 and the
Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, and all regulations, orders,
and notices thereunder and all statutes, regulations, and rules
of law and shall strictly observe and comply with all con-
ditions and restrictions which may from time to time be im-
