NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 5th day of August 1970, cancelled the registry of the following branches of the Auckland District Branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters of New Zealand Friendly Society No. 356 (register No. 356/2), on the ground that those branches have ceased to exist:

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL


PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PROPERTY AMENDMENT BILL


IN the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to amend the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 and to vest the lands and property now held by the Trustees of Saint Paul’s Presbyterian Church (Christchurch) Trustees Incorporation Act 1881 in the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees”.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, a body corporate constituted under the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Trustees”), intends to apply to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Bill, the short title of which is the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act 1970.

The objects of the Bill are to increase the maximum number of persons appointed Presbyterian Church Property Trustees and to provide for the vesting in the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees of land and property now held by the Trustees of Saint Paul’s Presbyterian Church (Christchurch).

The promoter of the Bill is the said the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees whose address for service of notices and communications is at the offices of its duly appointed solicitors, Messrs Macalister, Mazengarb, Parkin and Rose, National Bank Building, 170–186 Featherston Street, Wellington, where a copy of the Bill may be inspected.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before the 14th day of August 1970.

THE ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOPS EMPOWERING AMENDMENT BILL


THE Roman Catholic Bishops of New Zealand hereby give notice that they intend to apply for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Private Bill during the present session in Parliament.

The object of the Bill is to enable the Archbishops and Bishops (who are registered as proprietors of various interests in land and have various powers of sale and lease and otherwise under the Roman Catholic Bishops Empowering Act 1954) to grant perpetually renewable leases, leases taking effect at a future date more than 6 months after the date of the lease, or leases conferring an option to purchase and the power to require payment for goodwill or of a fine, forfeit, or premium in respect of a lease: And it is desired that such powers and the power to delegate such powers should be conferred upon those Archbishops and Bishops.

The promoters of the Bill are the Roman Catholic Archbishop and Bishops of New Zealand.

Communications or notices to the promoters may be sent to Messrs Foot, Lee and Foot, Solicitors, 217 Lambton Quay, Wellington (P.O. Box 702).

A copy of the Bill may be inspected at the offices of Messrs Foot, Lee and Foot, at the address stated, during normal office hours on any weekday other than Saturday.

THE NATIONAL HEART FOUNDATION OF NEW ZEALAND EMPOWERING BILL


IN THE MATTER of the Standing Order of the House of Representatives relating to Private Bills; and IN THE MATTER of a Private Bill intituled “The National Heart Foundation of New Zealand Empowering Act”:

NOTICE is hereby given that The National Heart Foundation of New Zealand, a body duly incorporated under the provisions of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for the passing of the above-mentioned Bill.

The object of the Bill is to provide that the council (or governing body) of the foundation, in addition to its existing power to invest in securities authorised by law for the investment of trust funds shall have the power to invest in other classes of securities, particulars of which are more particularly set forth in clause 3 of the Bill.

The promoter of the Bill is The National Heart Foundation of New Zealand whose address is care of Messrs Luke, Cunningham and Clere, Solicitors, 166–168 Featherston Street, Wellington, to which address all communications and notices may be sent.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, and the Bill may be inspected at the offices of Messrs Luke, Cunningham and Clere, the appointed solicitors for the promoter.
