OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND AND OF PROPOSAL TO STOP ROAD
NOTICE is hereby given that the Oxford County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Counties Act 1956, to execute a certain public work, namely, the realignment of a road within the county of Oxford; and, for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken, and it is proposed to stop those portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto and to take the lands described in the Third Schedule hereto, as severance. And notice is hereby given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken and the road to be stopped is deposited in the public office of the clerk of the council, situated in Oxford, and is there open for inspection to all persons during ordinary office hours; that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands or the proposed stopping of unused road should, if they have any objection to the taking of the said lands (not being an objection to the amount of payment of compensation) or to the proposed stopping of unused road, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the County Office, Oxford; and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of objection will be held unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of hearing.
The land to be taken is for Island Road between Rampaddock Road and Mounseys Road.

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Development Loan 1969, $600,000
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board held on the 26th day of February 1970, the following resolution was passed:
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wairarapa Electric Power Board resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $600,000 authorised to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of development work in the Wairarapa Electric Power District, the said Wairarapa Electric Power Board makes a special rate of decimal nought three seven (.037c) in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the Wairarapa Electric Power District; and that the special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

FEATHERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Pensioner’s Flats Loan 1970, $24,000
AT a special meeting of the Featherston Borough Council held on 29 June 1970 in the Featherston Borough Council Chambers, Fox Street, a motion was considered to apply to the Local Authorities Loans Board for its sanction to borrow the sum of $24,000 for the purpose of erecting pensioner’s flats in Bell Street, Featherston, and it was resolved:
“That, the Featherston Borough Council hereby resolve to apply to the Local Authorities Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of the sum of $24,000 for the purpose of erecting six single and two double pensioner’s flats’ units in Bell Street, Featherston. The term of the loan will be 40 years, the interest rate 3½ percent. The security for the loan shall be 0.10435c in the $ on the unimproved value of the Borough of Featherston. It is not intended to levy or collect the security rate, the charges being met from rents of the flat occupants.”
