Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of Street at Whangarei

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, the Right Hon. Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become street; and that the said street shall be under the control of the Whangarei City Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 24289 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow, edged yellow.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 10th day of June 1970.

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access ways described in the Schedule hereto shall on and after the date of this Order in Council vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Green Island and be under the control and management of the Green Island Borough Council.

Directing the Sale of Land in the City of Wellington

Extending the Time Within Which the Royal Commission to Inquire Into and Report Upon Horse Racing, Trotting, and Dog Racing May Report

ELIZABETH THE SECOND, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Her Other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith:

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved the Right Honourable Sir THADDEUS PEARCEY MCCARTHY, SIR JAMES NIMMO CRAWFORD DOIG, JOHN HANNIBAL GEORGE, ESQUIRE, AND HOWARD GRAHAM FLEMING CALLAM, ESQUIRE:

GREETING:

WHEREAS by Our Warrant dated the 25th day of August 1969* We nominated, constituted, and appointed you, the said Right Honourable Sir Thaddeus Pearcey McCarthy, Sir James Nimmo Crawford Doig, John Hannibal George, and Howard Graham Fleming Callam, to be a Commission to receive representations upon, inquire into, investigate, and report upon certain matters concerning horse racing, trotting and dog racing:

And whereas by Our said Warrant the said Commission was required to report to His Excellency the Governor-General not later than the 30th day of June 1970 its findings and opinions on the matters aforesaid, together with such recommendations as it might think fit to make in respect thereof:

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, We do hereby extend until the 31st day of December 1970 the time within which the said Commission is so required to report without prejudice to the continuation of the liberty conferred on it by Our said Warrant to report its proceedings and findings from time to time if it should judge it expedient to do so:

And We do hereby confirm Our said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted save as modified by these presents.

And it is hereby declared that these presents are issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His Late Majesty King George the Fifth, dated the 11th day of May 1917, and under the authority of and subject to the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand.

In witness whereof We have caused these presents to be issued and the Seal of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington this 15th day of June 1970.

Witness Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Administrator of the Government.
