  1. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

  2. The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant to this consent, shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  3. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1991, or until electricity is available from an electrical supply authority, whichever is the earlier.

  4. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  5. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 12.5 kVA.

SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

(a) Head works consisting of a dam and intake with a pipeline leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 120 ft.

(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 35, Block XIII, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District.

(c) Pipeline leading from the said powerhouse to Lake Wakatipu.

As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 798 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Stafford Hartland Weatherall by the Use of Water
———

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Stafford Hartland Weatherall, of Lake Ohau, farmer, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent, as if it were such a licence.

  2. (c) Turbine and powerhouse, with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Run 529, Hopkins Survey District.

(d) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the said stream.

As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 799 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice No. 1, 1970.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 27 and 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 16th day of September 1969†, which relates to Waimairi County at Brooklands, Spencerville, and at Marshland, is hereby revoked.
