Licensing the Westport Yacht Club to Occupy a Site for a Slipway at the Basin in the Westport Harbour

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Westport Yacht Club (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea in the floating basin, Westport Harbour, as shown on plan M.D. 13813 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a slipway thereon, as shown on the said plan; such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS
  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from 1 May 1970.
  3. The premium payable by the licensee shall be 6 dollars ($6) and the annual sum so payable, 2 dollars ($2).

Plant Declared Noxious Weed in the County of Bruce

PURSUANT to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following special order made, by the Bruce County Council on the 15th day of April 1970, is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

"PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, to declare that barley grass (Hordeum murinum) is a noxious weed within the County of Bruce."

Roll of Producers Qualified to Vote in Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee Election

(Notice No. Ag. 10605)

PURSUANT to clause 11 of the Schedule to the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1940, notice is hereby given that the roll of those persons qualified to vote for the election of four producers' representatives to the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee will be open for inspection during ordinary office hours at the following places, viz, Department of Agriculture, Head Office, Wellington, and at Nelson; also at the following post offices, viz, Motueka, Upper Moutere, Wakefield, Brightwater, Nelson, Tapawera, and Tadmor.

The roll will be available for public inspection for a period of 7 days from 20 May 1970.

Nomination forms may be obtained on application to any of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Department of Agriculture, Nelson, not later than noon on the 11th day of June 1970.

Rock Oyster Farming Lease

PURSUANT to the Rock Oyster Farming Act 1964, the Minister of Marine has granted to John Finnigan, of Auckland, the lease of 9 acres of sea bed (lease No. 140) in the Waikare Inlet, Bay of Islands, for the cultivation of rock oysters.

Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has announced that the Queen has been pleased to approve the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Flying Officer Trevor Keith Butler, Royal New Zealand Air Force, of Auckland, in recognition of his gallantry during operations in Vietnam.

WHEREAS by virtue of the notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto the land described in that notice was declared to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953; and whereas it is desired to release certain parcels of that land from the provisions of the said Part XXIV:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Whangarei 1970, No. 8.
  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.
  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
