Declaring an Area for Operation of Motor Launches and Water Skiers at the Elbow, Waikato River


PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of 8 years from the date hereof, and subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the area of water firstly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 on any day from the 1st day of November in one year to the 15th day of April the following year; and the area of water secondly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 on any day from the 1st day of December in one year to the 15th day of April the following year.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Firstly, all that area of water in the Waikato River between a line across the river in a north-east south-west direction at the upstream end of Kaiwaka Island and a line across the river in an east direction from the southern side of the end of the Elbow Road.

Secondly, all that area of water in the Waikato River between a line across the river in an east direction from the southern side of the end of the Elbow Road and a line across the river from the old building known as the whitebait factory to a point on the opposite shore known as Te Pahikairarua.


SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. At the end of the Elbow Road where boats are launched and where it may easily be read there shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted white with black letters.

  2. The aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice:

“NOTICE

MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962

No speed restriction for motor launches and water skiers in area from end of Kaiwaka Island to ½ mile downstream of the Elbow Road except during the whitebait season in the area downstream of the Elbow Road.”

The Traffic (Takapuna City) Notice No. 1, 1969


PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Takapuna City) Notice No. 1, 1969.

  2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  3. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 9th day of August 1966†, which relates to Takapuna City, is hereby revoked.

SITUATED within Takapuna City.

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the north-western boundary of Takapuna City to Forrest Hill Road).

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Rotorua City Council and Revocation of the Reservation over a Reserve


PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Rotorua, and revokes the reservation for cemetery purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

This notice is in substitution for a notice dated 21 December 1967, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 11 January 1968, No. 1, p. 8, and that notice is hereby accordingly revoked.
