The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 4, 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 4, 1969.

  2. The areas and roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The area and roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The notices under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 3rd day of July 1967† and the 6th day of July 1967‡, which relate to Muriwai and Parakai, in Waitemata County, are hereby revoked.

  5. The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 4, 1968, dated the 2nd day of April 1968§, which relates to areas in Waitemata County, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED WITHIN WAITEMATA COUNTY

AT MURIWAI:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the coast of the Tasman Sea opposite the terminating point of Motutara Road; thence easterly generally to the said terminating point; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western side of Motutara Road to a point 60 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said roadside from Domain Crescent; thence south-easterly generally across Motutara Road to the north-western side of Oaia Road; thence southerly generally along the said roadside across Waitea Road to the southern side of Waitea Road; thence due south-west by a right line to the coast of the Tasman Sea; thence northerly generally along the coast of the Tasman Sea to the commencing point.

At Parakai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the point where the eastern side of Parkhurst Road crosses the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence westerly generally by a right line across Parkhurst Road to a point 16 chains measured westerly generally along the southern side of Fordyce Road from Parkhurst Road; thence north-westerly generally by a right line across Fordyce Road to a point 8 chains measured north-westerly generally along the south-western side of Parkhurst Road from Springs Road; thence easterly generally by a right line across Parkhurst Road to the northern terminating point of Springs Road; thence easterly generally along the projection of the aforesaid right line to the bank of the Kaipara River; thence southerly generally along the bank of the Kaipara River to the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence south-westerly generally along the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream to the commencing point.

At Whenuapai:

Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road (from a point 16 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Trig Road to Totara Road).

Kauri Road (from Puriri Road to its northern end on the shore of the Riverhead Inlet).

Pohutukawa Road.

Puriri Road.

The two approach roads to Whenuapai Aerodrome which junction with the Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road.

Totara Road (from Waimarie Road to Karaka Road).

Waimarie Road.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED WITHIN WAITEMATA COUNTY

AT HOBSONVILLE:

Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road (from a point 4 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from Wisely Road to the crash gates at the north-eastern end of Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road).

Hobsonville Road (from Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road to a point 16 chains measured north-easterly generally along Hobsonville Road from Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road and from Luckens Road to a point 40 chains measured south-westerly generally along Hobsonville Road from Luckens Road).

Luckens Road (from Hobsonville Road to a point 24 chains measured south-easterly generally along Luckens Road from Hobsonville Road).

Trig Road (from Hobsonville Road to a point 8 chains measured north-westerly generally along Trig Road from Hobsonville Road).

At Huapai and Kumeu:

No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) (from Station Road, Huapai, to the bridge at a point 10 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said State highway from the entrance to Kumeu Railway Station).

Access Road (from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to a point 24 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said highway).

Matua Road (from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to Oraha Road).

Oraha Road (from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to a point 8 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said road from Matua Road).

Tapu Road (from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to a point 20 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from the said highway).

At Kaukapakapa:

No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) (from Pinchgut Road to a point 40 chains measured south-easterly generally along the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) from Pinchgut Road).

At Riverhead:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern side of the No. 18 State Highway (Brighams Creek - Albany) at the western end of the bridge across the Rangitopuni Creek; thence across the said State highway, at right angles to its northern side, to its southern side; thence southerly generally along the western bank of the said creek to a point opposite the southern side of the Kaipara Portage Road; thence westerly generally along the said roadside to the eastern side of the said State highway; thence across the said State highway, at right angles to its eastern side, to its western side; thence across Riverhead Road, at right angles to its southern side, to its northern side; thence northerly generally along the western side of the said State highway to the junction of the said State highway with Alice Street; thence northerly generally along the western side of Alice Street to the northern side of Queen Street; thence easterly generally along Queen Street to the western side of the said State highway; thence northerly generally along the western side of the said State highway to its junction with Great North Road; thence northerly generally along the western side of Great North Road to the end of the said road; thence easterly generally across Great North Road from its western side to its eastern side; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to the commencing point.

Unnamed road (from Kaipara Portage Road to the bank of the Rangitopuni Creek).
