Officer Authorised to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to authorise the officer in the service of the Crown being the holder for the time being of the office of District Administration Officer, Department of Lands and Survey, Te Kuiti, to take and receive statutory declarations under the said Act.

Authorisation of 1969 Boat and Caravan Show

PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:
    “The Act” means the Exhibitions Act 1910;
    “The promoter” means the Auckland R. Class Yacht Squadron, the Auckland Water Ski Club, the Auckland Outboard Boating Club, and the New Zealand Easter Show Committee;
    “The exhibition” means a public exhibition of boats and caravans to be conducted by the promoter at the Epsom Showgrounds, Auckland, from the 4th day of October to the 11th day of October 1969 (both inclusive) and to be known as the 1969 Boat and Caravan Show.

  2. The exhibition is hereby authorised and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.

  3. Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto, the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done, or business conducted, or services rendered, in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely, such of the provisions of
    (a) The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954 and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder,
    (b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955, and
    (c) The Factories Act 1946

as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime, or extended hours, or to holidays and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.

SCHEDULE

  1. Forty hours shall constitute a week’s work, to be worked on 5 days of the week, and 8 hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition; and, with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the daily hours shall be worked consecutively.

  2. No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than 4 hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

  3. (a) Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than 8 hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m., or on any day in excess of 5 days per week (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first 2 hours, and not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter.

(b) Any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act, or of any award or industrial agreement, shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than twice the ordinary rate, whether the work is performed wholly in or about the exhibition or otherwise: Provided that nothing in this sub-clause shall be deemed to deprive any person of any other payment for the said holiday, to which he is entitled under any Act or award or industrial agreement.

  1. No male under 18 years of age and no female shall be employed in or about the exhibition after the hour of 10.30 p.m.

  2. For the purposes of the enforcement of an award or industrial agreement any provision of which has been suspended by this order, any officer of the industrial union or association concerned who is authorised in writing in that behalf by the union or association shall be entitled to interview at his place of employment any person employed in or about the exhibition under that award or industrial agreement at such time or times as may be agreed upon between the officer and the employer of that person, and for this purpose any such officer shall be entitled at any time to have access to the Register of Passes issued by the promoter.

  3. Nothing in this notice shall be deemed to affect any provisions in an award or industrial agreement requiring workers subject to the award or industrial agreement to be members of a union.

The Control of Prices (Positive List)—Amendment No. 11

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1966, Amendment No. 11, and shall be read together with, and deemed to be part of, the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1966 (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Gazette.

  3. The principal notice is hereby amended by deleting the description following the subheading “Insecticides and Herbicides” and substituting the following description:

“Herbicides, insecticides, and acaracides specified in such Schedule as may be published in the Gazette from time to time by the Minister of Agriculture pursuant to the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 and the Agricultural Chemicals Act 1959; but shall not apply to any herbicide, insecticide, or acaracide packed in a container holding less than 1 gallon of liquid or less than 4 lb by weight of solid unless the herbicide, insecticide, or acaracide is a restricted poison as so declared by regulation 4 of the Poisons Regulations 1964.”
