Recommendation

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Standards Act 1965, the
Standards Council, on 31 July 1969, amended the under-
mentioned standard recommendation by the incorporation of
the amendment shown hereunder:

The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Revoked

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the
Standards Council, on 31 July 1969, revoked the under-
mentioned standard specifications:

NZS 384:1951(BS 912:1950) Bolted flameproof cable couplers primarily for use in mines.
NZS 713:1962(BS 1435:1960) Oil suction and discharge hose with built-in end connections for test pressures of 100, 150, 200, and 225 lb/sq in.

Part 1:1967 Rubber conveyor belting of ply construction for general use. (BS 490: Part 1:1965).

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated:

D 110 Code of practice for the manufacture and use of structural plywood—

Part 1, Manufacture.

All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, upon application, obtain copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 31 October 1969.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 123—Public Inquiry into Import Duties and Import Licensing Affecting Artificial Flowers, Foliage or Fruit and Parts Thereof; Articles Made of Artificial Flowers, Foliage or Fruit (Tariff Items 67.02.01 and 67.02.09)

  1. The Tariff and Development Board has been requested by the Minister of Customs to inquire into and report on whether any new or increased duties are necessary in respect of artificial flowers, foliage or fruit and parts thereof; articles made of artificial flowers, foliage or fruit, classified in Tariff items 67.02.01 and 67.02.09. The Minister has also asked the Board to consider the question of import licensing as it affects these goods.

  2. The Board will, in accordance with its normal procedures, conduct a public inquiry in the Boardroom, First Floor, Law Society Building, 26 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, on Thursday, 2 October 1969, commencing at 10.30 a.m.
