WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land situated in Block IV, Moutere Survey District, Wellington R.D., containing approximately 278 acres, being part Hokio A.; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 23373 (W.D.O. 36391) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red; the said piece of land being situated adjacent to the Hokio Stream and the Tasman Sea beachfront and State forest.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land in the City of Christchurch, Subject to a Sewerage Easement

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the Land Act 1948, as from the 28th day of July 1969, subject to the sewerage easement created in and by memorandum of transfer No. 577415, Canterbury Land Registry.

Motor Launch (Tuakau, Waikato River) Notice 1969—Franklin County Council
———
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister of Marine hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Tuakau, Waikato River) Notice 1969.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force for a period of 5 years after that date.

Subject to the conditions set forth in the Third Schedule to this order, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply with respect to the area described in the First Schedule to this order.

The area described in the Second Schedule to this order shall be an access lane.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water of the Waikato River bounded to the east by a line drawn on 002° true direction from the eastern corner of Smeeds Road Landing to a point of land on the opposite shore known as “Little Rock”, and bounded to the west by a line drawn in a 033° true direction from the southern shore of the Waikato River through the easternmost point of Te Weranga-O-Kapu Island to the northern shore of the river, excepting thereout all that area of water south-eastward of Opuwhango Island bounded by parallel lines drawn at 153° direction from the north-easternmost point and the south-westernmost point of Opuwhango Island.

SECOND SCHEDULE
- All that area of water of the Waikato River within 75 yd of the north-eastern shore of the river, and bounded on the sides by parallel lines 175 yd apart, the south-eastern boundary line being the line of the north-western side of the Tuakau Bridge.

THIRD SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS
- The limits of the areas described in the First Schedule to this order shall be marked with conspicuous posts, painted with 12 in. black and orange bands, erected on the banks of the following places:
(a) At the upstream and downstream limits on both banks; and
(b) Each end of Opuwhango Island and the corresponding places on the southern banks of the river.

The downstream limit of the area described in the Second Schedule to this order shall be marked with a conspicuous post, painted with 12 in. black and orange bands, erected on the north-eastern bank.

Within the area described in the First Schedule to this order, no person shall propel or navigate a motor launch or cause any water ski, aquaplane, other similar object, or person towed by any motor launch to be pulled, propelled, navigated, or manoeuvred at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when:
(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel, or
(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water or bathing or fishing.
- (a) Ski-ing and boat activities must give way to other traffic using the river, e.g., sand barges, surveying and river gauging;
(b) River traffic has the right to proceed without hindrance through the water-ski area at all times.
- (a) A notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted bright orange with black lettering, shall be erected on the bank at each place where boats are normally launched. The upper and middle portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice:
“NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
There is no speed restriction for motor launches and water skiers using the area shown cross hatched on the plan below, subject to the following conditions:
- No person shall propel or navigate a motor launch, or cause any water ski, aquaplane, other similar object, or person towed by any motor launch to be pulled, propelled, navigated, or manoeuvred at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when—
(i) Within 100 ft of any other vessel; or
(ii) Within 100 ft of any other person in the water, or bathing, or fishing. - Ski-ing and boat activities must give way to other traffic using the river, e.g., sand barges, survey and river gauging;
- River traffic has the right to proceed without hindrance through the water-skiing area at all times.”
(b) The notice board to be erected in the area described in the Second Schedule of this order shall carry the following additional notice:
“4. Bathing and fishing is prohibited between Tuakau Bridge and a point 175 yd downstream, as shown green on plan below.”
(c) A plan of the lake, on a scale of not less than 5 chains to 1 in. shall be displayed in the lower portion of the aforesaid notices. The plan shall show the areas above-described in the following manner:

For the First Schedule to this order—cross-hatched, excepting the area of water south-eastward of Opuwhango Island.

For the Second Schedule to this order—solid green.
