The Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 1, 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 1, 1969.

  2. The areas specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

  5. The Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 2, 1968, dated the 12th day of June 1968†, and the Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 4, 1967, dated the 28th day of September 1967‡, which relate to roads adjacent to Upper Hutt City, in Hutt County, are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hutt County, adjacent to Upper Hutt City:

  1. No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City to a point 40 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said highway from the said boundary).

SITUATED within Hutt County, adjacent to Upper Hutt City:

  1. All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point being the intersection of the north-western side of the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) and the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City; thence proceeding in a north-easterly direction generally along the north-western side of the said highway, across Kashmir Avenue, Clouston Park Road, and the north-eastern end of Clouston Park Road to a point opposite the western side of Montgomery Road; thence due north along a right line to a point on the left bank of the Hutt River; thence westerly generally along the said left bank of the Hutt River to the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City to the commencing point.

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point being the intersection of the southern side of the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) and the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City to the northern boundary of the Wellington-Napier railway; thence north-easterly generally along the northern boundary of the said railway to the western boundary of part Section 223, Akatarawa Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along the western boundary of part Section 223 and part Section 222, Akatarawa Survey District, and along the south-western boundary of the Te Marua School to the south-eastern side of the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne); thence southerly and south-westerly generally along the south-eastern side of the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to the commencing point.

SITUATED within Hutt County, at Birchville:

  1. All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point being the intersection of the western side of Akatarawa Road and the north-western boundary of Harcourt Park; thence proceeding due west along a right line to the left bank of the Hutt River; thence north-easterly generally along the left bank of the Hutt River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 29, D.P. 12486; thence north-westerly generally across the Hutt River to and along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 29, D.P. 12486, to its south-western corner; thence north-easterly generally along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 12, D.P. 8723; thence along a right line, across the Akatarawa River, to a point on the western side of Akatarawa Road in line with the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 10 to 17 and 19 to 45, D.P. 23489; thence south-easterly generally across Akatarawa Road to, and along, the north-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned lots and their production for a distance of 39 chains from Akatarawa Road; thence south-westerly generally along a right line to the intersection of the western side of Akatarawa Road, and the north-western boundary of Harcourt Park, to the point of commencement, but excluding the Akatarawa Road.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hutt County:

  1. Akatarawa Road (from the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to a point 3 chains measured northerly generally along the said highway from Gillespies Road).

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hutt County:

  1. No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from a point 40 chains measured north-easterly generally from the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City to a point 24 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said highway from Akatarawa Road).

The Traffic (Waipara County) Notice 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waipara County) Notice 1969.

  2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  3. The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and Regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated 13th day of October 1958†, which relates to Waipara County, at Waipara, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waipara County at Waipara:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 6 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from MacKenzies Road to a point 42 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from the said road).

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work at Bartletts and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land, subject to the Land Act 1948, as from the 27th day of January 1969.
