THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF SCHEME
Notice is hereby given that the Public Trustee as trustee of the will of William Georgetti, deceased, has filed, in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington, an application for approval of a scheme for disposition of the residuary income of his estate to provide scholarships for reconstituting the scholarship committee established under the will and for extending or varying the powers of the scholarship committee and prescribing or varying the mode of administering the trusts. Under the will those eligible must (inter alia) be over the age of 21 years and not over the age of 24 years and hold an academic degree of the University of New Zealand, and the annual value of each scholarship is to be $300. The scheme would modify this by increasing the upper age limit to 28 years, amending the academic qualification to qualifications conferred by any university, university college, technological institute, or other institution of learning in New Zealand or elsewhere approved by the scholarship board, and giving the scholarship board a discretion as to the annual amount of each scholarship awarded. Other minor changes would also result from the approval of the scheme.
