THE RIGHT HON. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 326 of the Niue Act 1966, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby takes the land described in the Schedule hereto for the following public purposes, namely, education.


SCHEDULE

ALL those pieces of land containing together 4 acres and 28.1 perches, more or less, situated in the District of Hakupu in Niue, being the whole of the land known as Tuasea Sections 3, 7 to 13, and 16 to 18, Hakupu District, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plans signed by the Resident Commissioner of Niue and deposited in the office of the Registrar, Land Court, Niue, under number 13 and 60.

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Glenorchy Pest Destruction District Order 1968.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Glenorchy Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of June 1949*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The Lake County Pest Destruction District is hereby abolished.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE GLENORCHY PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts, County of Lake, containing 827,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Mount Aurum, Skippers Creek Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 14 to its south-eastern corner; thence generally southerly down the middle of Stony Creek to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Run 346p; thence generally south-westerly to and along that boundary and down the middle of Shepherds Hut Creek to its mouth; thence generally north-westerly, westerly, and south-easterly along the north-eastern, northern, and south-western shores of Lake Wakatipu to the north-eastern corner of Run 558, Von Survey District; thence generally westerly and south-easterly along the generally northern and south-western boundaries of Run 558 to the north-eastern boundary of Run 567; thence generally north-westerly along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Run 756; thence south-westerly, generally north-westerly, and easterly along the south-eastern, generally south-western, and northern boundaries of Run 756 to the right (western) bank of the McKellar Branch of the Greenstone River; thence northerly along that bank and northerly along the western shore of Lake McKellar to its northernmost point; thence northerly along a right line to the southernmost point of the shore of Lake Howden and northerly along the western shore of that lake to its northernmost point; thence north-westerly along a right line to Mount Christina, Caples Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Barrier Peak, north-westerly along a right line to Sentinel Peak, and north-easterly along a right line to Revelation Peak; thence generally north-westerly along the summit of the Darran Mountains to Mount Milne; thence north-easterly along a right line to Mount Madeline; thence generally north-westerly along the Otago Land District boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1955, page 676, to the head of an unnamed stream approximately 60 chains west of Mount Pembroke; thence north-easterly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the John O’Groats River, and generally north-westerly down the middle of that river to the sea coast; thence generally north-easterly along the sea coast to the mouth of the Awarua River; thence south-easterly along a right line to Mount Aspiring and generally north-easterly along the summit of the Southern Alps to the south-western corner of Run 97, Mount Pollux Survey District; thence north-easterly and south-westerly along the north-western and south-eastern boundaries of Run 468 to the intersection of the Glacier Burn with the last-mentioned boundary; thence south-westerly along a right line to Mount Tyndall, Cascade Survey District; thence south-westerly and southerly along the north-western and western boundaries of Run 20 to Mount Ferguson; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Run 17 to the point of commencement.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Te Anau Pests Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day of March 1957*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TE ANAU PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in the Southland and Otago Land Districts, and the Wallace and Lake Counties, inclusive of all lakes, rivers, streams, roads, and tracks, containing by estimation 1,830 square miles, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Mount Anau and proceeding north-westerly through Castle Mountain and Cloudy Pass (Bligh Sound) to the sea coast, the same being the northern boundary of the Wallace county; thence southerly generally along the sea coast to the tip of the south-eastern arm of George Sound; thence southerly generally by right lines passing through Barrier Peaks, Mount Pisgah, Mount Lyall, Mount Owen, Forward Peak, the northernmost peak of Jackson Peaks, Cone Peak, Flat Mountain to Crescent Mountain, the same being part of the west boundary of the Wallace County; thence by a right line from Crescent Mountain to the northernmost corner of part Run 463, Titiroa Survey District, and the continuation of that line to the left bank of the Waiau River; thence north-easterly generally along the left bank of the aforesaid river to its junction with the right bank of the Mararoa River; thence north-easterly generally along the right bank of the Mararoa River to a point in line with the left bank of Princhester Creek; thence by a right line to and along the left bank of the aforesaid creek to the northern side of a public road forming the northern boundary of Section 191, Block V, Takitimu Survey District; thence easterly along the northern side of the aforesaid road and the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 191, to the north-western corner of Run 564, Block VI, Takitimu Survey District; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Run 564 aforesaid, to a point on the western boundary of part Section 130, Block XII, Takitimu Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary of the aforesaid part Section 130 and the production of that boundary to the north-westernmost corner of Run 198c, Block XVII, Takitimu
