Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 7th day of October 1968
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as Maori reservation, for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use and benefit of the owners and members of the Ngati-Tipa tribe and to be called “Te Kakenga Urupa”.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting-place for the common use and benefit of the members of the Uranga-O-te-Ra hapu of the Ngatiporou tribe.

ORDER
THE notice given by the Returning Officer for the district of the Great Barrier Island County Council giving public notice of the day fixed for the triennial general election of members of the Council held on the 12th day of October 1968, and appointing a place for the nomination of candidates and a closing day and time for the receipt of nominations, is hereby validated and declared to have been lawfully given, notwithstanding that it was given less than 35 clear days before the said 12th day of October 1968.

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Waitemata County Council to reclaim from Taikata Creek the two areas of Crown land shown, edged green, on plan M.D. 12912 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, and totalling in area 1 acre, more or less.

King Country Electric Power Board Empowering Order 1968

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the King Country Electric Power Board Empowering Order 1968.
  2. The King Country Electric Power Board is hereby authorised to enter into a contract with the Ohakune Borough Council to purchase the electrical undertaking of the Ohakune Borough Council.
  3. This order shall be subject to the provisions of the Electricity Distribution Commission Act 1967, and shall take effect, subject to the provisions of that Act, and of any final scheme made thereunder, and nothing in this order shall be construed as limiting the powers of the Electricity Distribution Commission.
