NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Maori Land Development Notice Gisborne 1968, No. 4.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Describing the Boundaries of the Taumarunui Abattoir District and Specifying the Controlling Authority of the Said District (No. Ag. 10315)

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Meat Act 1964 and to delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purpose of the said Act, notice is hereby given as follows:

  1. The Taumarunui Abattoir District described in the notice of 7 May 1951* shall henceforth comprise the districts of the following local authorities:

(a) Taumarunui Borough Council;
(b) Manunui Town Council;
(c) Taumarunui County Council, excluding the area described in the Schedule hereto.

  1. The Taumarunui Borough Council shall be the controlling authority of the Taumarunui Abattoir.

SCHEDULE

ALL that land in the South Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts, Taumarunui County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and proceeding by a right line to and southerly along that western boundary, the western boundary of Section 6, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and again the western boundary of the aforementioned Section 2 to the northern side of a public road; thence easterly generally along that roadside to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District; thence to and southerly along that western boundary to the westernmost corner of Section 1; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of Block XIII, Hurakia Survey District, to the western boundary of part Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 10 Block; thence southerly along that western boundary to the northern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 51 Block, westerly generally along that northern boundary and the northern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua 21A, 21B 3B and 21B 3A Blocks, the eastern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 66A 3E Block, and the northern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 66A 3D Block to the middle of the Mangakahu Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 76A 8 Block situated in Block II, Tuhua Survey District, to and northerly along that eastern boundary, to and westerly along the southern boundary of part Rangitoto-Tuhua 76B 7 Block, westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua 76B 8A Block, and again westerly along the south-western boundaries of parts Rangitoto-Tuhua 76B 8B 2D Block to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence up that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Subdivision 1 of Section 8, Block X, Tangitu Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the north-east boundary of an unnamed road and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across the North Island Main Trunk Railway and the Taumarunui-Te Kuiti Road to and along the south-west boundary of Subdivision 1 of Section 8, Block X, Tangitu Survey District, to the westernmost corner of that subdivision; thence generally north-westerly along the north-east boundaries of Section 13, Block X, Section 15, Subdivisions 1 and 2 of Section 8 and Section 9, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the south-east boundary of Section 12, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District, to the south-east corner of Section 18, Block II, Tangitu Survey District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundary of the Taumarunui County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1967, p. 1869, to the point of commencement, together with all that piece of land that comprises 369 acres 37 perches, being Section 4, Block X, Ohura Survey District, and certificate of title, Volume 86, folio 296.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

National Roads Board—Notice Concerning the Stopping of Vehicles on Roads

It is hereby notified that, pursuant to the National Roads Board Bylaw 1958, No. 1*, the Board has, by resolution carried at its meeting on 18 September 1968, prohibited the stopping of vehicles on those portions of State highway described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ON both sides of No. 1 State Highway at, and adjacent to, its junction with Western Road, Huntly, as follows:

  1. (a) On the eastern side at the junction extending from Farrell’s Lane for a distance of 350 ft in a northerly direction.
    (b) On the eastern side at the junction extending from Farrell’s Lane for a distance of 350 ft in a southerly direction.

  2. (a) On the western side at the junction commencing at the pedestrian crossing and extending in a northerly direction for a distance of 230 ft.
    (b) On the western side at the junction commencing at the pedestrian crossing and extending in a southerly direction for a distance of 330 ft.

As shown, in red, on plan M.O.W. 14675 (H.R. 1384).

Bylaw Regulating Traffic on the Cascade Camp-Milford Sound (Homer Tunnel) Section of the Lumsden-Te Anau-Milford Sound Main Highway

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the National Roads Act 1953 and section 54 of the Transport Act 1949, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw in respect of the Cascade Camp-Milford Sound (Homer Tunnel) section of the Lumsden-Te Anau-Milford Sound (Main Highway).
