Authorising the Taumarunui County Council to Sell Timber Upon Road in Block II, Ohura Survey District, Taumarunui County

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to section 140 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Taumarunui County Council to sell, or contract to sell, and remove timber upon a portion of road adjacent to part Section 16, Block II, Ohura Survey District, Taranaki R.D.; as the same is more particularly shown on the plan marked M.O.W. 21872 and deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Boundaries of County of Rodney Altered by Including Kawau Island Therein ARTHUR PORRITT, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 5th day of February 1968 Present: THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1968 except insofar as it may be necessary to apply any of the provisions contained herein at an earlier date for the purposes of sections 35 and 36 of the Counties Act 1956. 2. The area of the Island of Kawau is hereby included in the district of the County of Rodney (hereinafter referred to as the "said county") and shall form part of the Matakana Riding of the said county. 3. The said county shall be divided into two divisions as follows:
(i) The Rodney Division comprising the district of the said county exclusive of the area of the Island of Kawau.
(ii) The Kawau Division comprising the area of the Island of Kawau. - Separate accounts shall be kept for each such division and for rating purposes the Council of the said county shall for a period of 10 years, or for such longer period as the Council shall resolve by special order, apply the provisions of section 110 (1) of the Counties Act 1956 as if the area of Kawau Island had been a county and as if the said county were a new county formed by the union of two counties.
- The cost of all special works to be carried out in either of the said divisions shall be debited against the separate account of the division for the benefit of which such special works are carried out.
- Interest, sinking funds, and capital repayments in respect of all existing loans of the County of Rodney shall be debited against the separate account of the Rodney Division.
- No part of any bridge rate made by the Council of the said county shall be debited to the separate account of the Kawau Division.
- Subject to the provisions of clauses 6 and 7 hereof the following items shall be credited and debited to the separate account of the Kawau Division:
(i) All rates collected in the said division.
(ii) All land subdivision fees paid in respect of subdivisions within the said division.
(iii) All other income, grants or subsidies collected within or arising from the said division.
(iv) A share of the administration expenses of Rodney County to be determined by the Council of the said county.
(v) A proportionate part of the contributions, grants, and subscriptions paid by the said county to all special purpose authorities whose districts include the said division.
(vi) A contribution towards the maintenance expenses in connection with the jetty and other facilities at Sandspit to be determined by the Council of the said county.
(vii) All other expenditure in or in connection with the said division. - The Rodney County Council shall appoint a special advisory committee of five persons who shall be electors of the Kawau Division and the provisions of sections 418 and 419 of the Counties Act 1956 shall, with the necessary modifications, apply in respect of the said committee as if that committee were a county town committee to which those sections apply and as if the Kawau Division were a county town.
- At the next triennial general election of members of county councils the number of members of the Rodney County Council shall be increased from 11 to 12 and the members to be elected to represent the Matakana Riding of the said county shall be increased from two to three.
- The notice relating to registration of dogs on Kawau Island dated 1 December 1960, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 8 December 1960, at page 1921, is hereby revoked.
- The Waitemata Electric Power District Representation Order 1965* is hereby amended by deleting from the Schedule thereto the words "Kawau Island".
- Subject to the provisions of this order and the provisions of the Local Government Commission Act 1967 the alteration of the boundaries hereinbefore made shall be deemed to be effected under the Counties Act 1956.

Boundaries of County of Waitemata, Borough of Birkenhead, and Borough of Northcote Altered ARTHUR PORRITT, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 5th day of February 1968 Present: THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967 His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- This order shall come into force on 1 April 1968.
- The area described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Waitemata and included in the Borough of Birkenhead.
- The area described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby included in the Borough of Birkenhead.
- The area described in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Waitemata and included in the Borough of Northcote.
- The areas described in the Fourth Schedule hereto are hereby included in the Borough of Northcote.
- A sum equal to the amount expended by the Waitemata County Council out of county revenue (exclusive of Government subsidies) on reconstruction work carried out since 31 March 1965 on that part of Onewa Road included in the Borough of Birkenhead pursuant to clause 1 of this order, shall be paid to the Waitemata County Council by the Birkenhead Borough Council.
- The boundary alterations hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

All that area of approximately 33 acres in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection, in Block XII, Waitemata Survey District, of the eastern boundary of Lot 25, D.P. 19228, and the southern side of the stream forming the southern boundary of Lot 20, D.P. 43233, and proceeding easterly generally along the southern side of that stream to and southerly generally
