a right line to the north-western corner of the said part
Section 21, and continuing southerly along a right line to
the south-east corner of Lot 4, D.P. 1760, in Block VI,
aforesaid, and the production of that line to the north shore
of Queen Charlotte Sound; thence southerly generally along
a right line to the deep-water landing place at the Grove;
then along a bearing of 120° to the summit of the range
forming the watershed of the Mahakipawa and Tuamarina
Valleys; thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally
along the summit of the said range through Trig. Stations
Z, Y, and LL to the north-westernmost corner of Section 3,
Block XIII, Linkwater Survey District; thence south-easterly
along a right line to the source of the Waikakahō Stream
in Section 3 aforesaid; thence south-easterly generally along
the left bank of the Waikakahō Stream to the left bank of
the Wairau River; thence south-westerly generally along the
said left bank to the middle of the mouth of the Onamalutu
River; thence westerly up the middle of the Onamalutu River
to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part
Section 106, Kaituna Registration District; thence north-
westerly generally to and along the south-western boundary
of the said part Section 106 and its production across a public
road to and along the north-eastern side of the road forming
the south-western boundary of Section 107, Kaituna Valley
Registration District, to the north-eastern corner of the said
road; thence north-westerly generally along a right line to
Trig. Station R; thence north-westerly along the summit of
the ridge between the Onamalutu and Kaituna Valleys to the
summit of the dividing range between the Pelorus and Wairau
Valleys; thence westerly generally along the summit of the
said range to its intersection with the Marlborough County
boundary, hereinbefore described, in Block XIV, Pine Valley
Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along the
Marlborough County boundary to the point of commencement.
Spring Creek - Picton Riding
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District bounded by
a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Wairau
River at the left bank of the Waikakahō Stream; thence
proceeding north-westerly generally along the said left bank
of the Waikakahō Stream to its source in Section 3, Block
XIII, Linkwater Survey District; thence along a right line to
the north-westernmost corner of Section 3, aforesaid; thence
south-easterly and north-easterly generally along the summit
of the dividing range between the Mahakipawa and Tu-
marina Valleys, through Trig. Stations LL, Y, and Z, and
continuing to a point on a line bearing 120° from the deep-
water landing place at the Grove; thence north-westerly gener-
ally along the line aforementioned to the mean high-water
mark at the Grove; thence northerly to the middle of Queen
Charlotte Sound; thence generally easterly, generally along
the middle of the said Sound to Karaka Point in Block VII,
Arapawa Survey District, and along the mean high-water
mark of Queen Charlotte Sound to Dieffenbach Point; thence
north-easterly generally along Queen Charlotte Sound, passing
to the west of Blumine, Long, and Motuara Islands, to its
intersection with parallel of latitude 40° 04' south; thence
due east along that parallel to its intersection with the meri-
dian of longitude 174° 30' east; thence due south along that
meridian to a point due east of the southernmost corner of
Section 4, Block XIV, Arapawa Survey District; thence due
west to the mean high-water mark of the sea in Island Bay;
then south-westerly generally along the mean high-water
mark to the left bank of the mouth of the Wairau River;
thence north-westerly generally along the said left bank to a
point in line with the south-eastern side of Jones Road; thence
south-westerly generally to and along the said south-eastern
side of Jones Road and its production to the south-western
side of Vickerman Street; thence north-westerly along the
south-western side of Vickerman Street to the south-eastern
side of a road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section
33, Wairau Registration District; thence south-westerly along
the south-eastern side of the said road and its production to
the middle of the old bed of the Opawa River; thence south-
westerly along the middle of the said old bed to its inter-
section with the middle of the Opawa River opposite Lot 2,
D.P. 2387, in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence
north-westerly and generally up the midde of the Opawa
River to a point in Section 5, Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey
District, in line with the eastern side of the road forming
the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 2245; thence north-
westerly along a right line to the left bank of the Wairau
River at the mouth of the Onamalutu Stream in Block XII,
Onamalutu Survey District; thence north-easterly generally
along the said left bank to the point of commencement;
excluding therefrom all those areas below mean high-water
mark in Tory Channel, the open sea, and those parts of
Queen Charlotte Sound and adjoining bays and inlets lying
north-east of Dieffenbach Point; also excluding therefrom the
Borough of Picton, as described in Gazette, 1882, p. 126.
Wairau Riding
ALL that area in the Marlborough and Nelson Land Districts
bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Top 2 in
Block III, Raglan Survey District, and proceeding north-
easterly along a right line to Wards Pass in Block VII,
Patriarch Survey District, and along the summit of the range,
being the northern watershed of the Wairau River, to Ada
Flat in Block XIV, Pine Valley Survey District; thence
generally north-easterly and easterly along the said northern
watershed of the Wairau River to Mount Riley in Block VII,
Onamalutu Survey District; thence south-easterly along the
summit of the ridge between the Kaituna and Onamalutu
Valleys to Trig. Station R, and along a right line to the
northern corner of the road forming the south-western
boundary of Section 107, Kaituna Valley Registration Dis-
trict, in Lot 6, D.P. 2347, Block XII, Onamalutu Survey Dis-
trict; thence continuing south-easterly along the north-eastern
side of that road and its production to and along the south-
western boundary of part Section 106, Kaituna Registration
District, and its production to the middle of the Onamalutu
River; thence easterly along the middle of the said river to its
mouth; thence along a right line to a point on the middle
of the Opawa River in line with the eastern side of the road
forming the western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 2245; thence
southerly to and along that roadside and its production to
the south side of State Highway No. 63 in Block XIII, Cloudy
Bay Survey District; thence easterly along the south side of
that highway and of State Highway No. 6 to the north-
eastern corner of part Section 89, Omaka Registration District
(as shown on D.P. 421); thence southerly along the eastern
boundary of the said section to its south-east corner; thence
easterly to and along the northern boundaries of part Section
76, Wairau Registration District, and part Section 76, Omaka
Registration District, as shown on D.P. 420, to the western
boundary of part Section 73, Omaka Registration District;
thence southerly along the western boundary of part Section
73 (as shown on D.P. 423) to the left bank of the Fairhall
River; thence easterly to and along the northern boundary
of Section 77, Wairau Registration District (in Lot 2, D.P.
1447), to the western side of Grahams Road in Block XIV,
Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence northerly along the
western side of the said road to a point in line with the
northern boundary of Section 24, Wairau Registration Dis-
trict; thence easterly along a right line to the south-western
corner of Section 5, Omaka Registration District, in Block
XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence southerly through
Section 232, Omaka Registration District, along the line of
the former eastern boundary of Section 8, Omaka Registration
District, and its production to the northern side of New Ren-
wick Road; thence westerly along that roadside to a point in
line with the middle of the unformed road forming the western
boundary of Section 27, Omaka Registration District; thence
southerly to and along the middle of the said road and its
production to the middle of Taylor Pass Road, and along
the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern
boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 771; thence easterly to and along
the northern boundaries of the said Lot 2 and Section 8,
Block III, Taylor Pass Survey District, to the north-east
corner of the said Section 8; thence southerly along the
eastern boundary of the said Section 8 to the northern side
of Wither Road; thence westerly along that roadside and its
production to the western side of Taylor Pass Road; thence
southerly along the western side of Taylor Pass Road to a
point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 14,
Block VIII, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence south-easterly
to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary
of closed road and its production to the southern side of
Taylor Pass Road; thence generally easterly and southerly
along the southern and western sides of Taylor Pass Road
to a point due north of the confluence of the Taylor Pass
Creek with the Taylor River in Block XIII, Taylor Pass Sur-
vey District; thence due south to the middle of the Taylor
River; thence south-westerly generally up the said middle
line to a point in line with the south-west boundary of
Section 44, Omaka Registration District, in Block XII, Taylor
Pass Survey District; thence north-westerly to and south-
westerly generally along the watershed between the Wairau
and Awatere Rivers to its junction in Block I, Upcot Survey
District, with the eastern boundary of Run 220; thence
generally northerly, westerly, and south-westerly along the
eastern, northern, and north-western boundaries of the said
Run 220 (Richmondale) to the Saxton Saddle in Block V,
Molesworth Survey District; thence generally south-westerly
and southerly along the north-western and western boundaries
of Run 226 (Molesworth) to a point in Block IV, Wairau
Survey District, bearing 100° true, distant approximately 1
mile from Trig. Station BW; thence generally south-westerly
along the south-eastern watershed of the Wairau River,
through Trig. Station F, to Mount Tarndale in Block XVI,
Rainbow Survey District; thence generally westerly along
the southern watershed of the said Wairau River, through
Mount Balaclava and Island Pass to Mount Maling in Block
XIII, Rainbow Survey District; thence generally northerly
along the summit of the St. Arnaud Range, through Belvedere
Peak, Mount Mackay, Mount Cotterell, The Camel, and St.
Arnaud Trig. to the south-eastern boundary of Section 11,
Block XIV, Motupiko Survey District; thence north-easterly
along that boundary to the south-western boundary of Section
6, Square 34; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along
the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said
Section 6 to the southern side of No. 63 State Highway
(Renwick-Kawatiri); thence easterly along the southern side
of that highway to its intersection with a right line between
Trig. Top 2 in Block III, Raglan Survey District, and Barefell
Pass in Block IV, Barefell Survey District; thence north-
westerly along that line to the point of commencement.
