the southern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 2, Block VIII,
Waimana Survey District, the north-western boundaries of the
last-mentioned lot, Lot 1 of Section 2, part Section 1, Block
VIII, Waimana Survey District, crossing an intervening
public road, Lot 1, D.P. 4989, part Section 1 and Section 3,
Block IV, Waimana Survey District, the abutment of a public
road, and the generally western boundaries of Section 2,

corner of Allotment 273, Waiotahi Parish, along a right
line across a public road to and along the southern boundaries

District; thence north-westerly generally along the generally

south-western side of Wainui Road to a point in line with
the northern boundary of the north-eastern portion of Lot 2,

easterly along a right line to and along the said northern
boundary to the shore of Ohiwa Harbour; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point 10 chains due west
of Whitiwhiti Point, along a right line to the southernmost
point of Ohakana Island, 230 chains along a right line passing
through a point 1 chain due north of the northernmost point
of Uretara Island, due north-east to a point 5 chains due
south of the eastern extremity of Ohope Beach on the western
shore of the entrance to Ohiwa Harbour, due north of the
said western shore, due east across the harbour entrance to
the high-water mark of the Bay of Plenty, and along that
high-water mark to a point of commencement, excluding
therefrom the Borough of Opotiki, as defined by New Zealand
Gazette, 1911, p. 2547.

BOUNDARIES OF CAPE RIDING OF COUNTY OF OPOTIKI

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, County of
Opotiki, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the
high-water mark of the sea in Block III, Whangaparaoa
Survey District, being the north-easternmost corner of
Whangaparaoa part 2D and 2E 2B 1 Block, and being the
north-eastern corner of the County of Opotiki, as hereinbefore
described, and proceeding southerly generally along that
boundary to the middle line of the Ruatahunga Stream in
Block IX, Hikurangi Survey District; thence north-westerly
generally, up the middle of that stream, to a point in line
with the south-western boundary of Waitahaia Block, to and
along that boundary and its production to the middle of
the Te Kahika Stream, down the middle of that stream to and
down the middle of the Motu River to a point in line with the
south-eastern boundary of Ohotu 2A Block, to and along that
boundary and the north-eastern boundary of that block, the
south-eastern boundary of Ohotu 2B Block and its production
to the middle of the Haparapara River, down the middle of
that river to the northern boundary of Te Karaka part No. 2
Block; thence westerly generally along that boundary and
the northern boundaries of Lot 1, L.T. 11455 (AK), and
Wharawhara part 26 Block, crossing an intervening public
road, to the high-water mark of the sea in Block I,
Haparapara Survey District; thence north-easterly generally
along that high-water mark to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of the City of Rotorua, County of Rotorua, and
the Ridings of Mamaku and Central of the County of
Rotorua Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954 and section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary
for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule
hereto, the boundaries of the City of Rotorua, County of
Rotorua, and the Ridings of Mamaku and Central of the
County of Rotorua; the boundaries having previously been
altered by Orders in Council made on 30 January 1963 and
published in New Zealand Gazette, 7 February 1963, No. 8,
p. 146, and on 22 September 1965 and published in New
Zealand Gazette, 30 September 1965, No. 56, p. 1651.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF ROTORUA

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District containing 6,590 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the western shore of Lake Rotorua and being
the easternmost corner of Kawaha 3G in Block XIII, Rotoiti
Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly generally along
the said shore to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Tahererauti 2 (Ohinemutu Pa); thence along
that last-mentioned boundary produced for a distance of
71.44 links bearing 46° 01′ 40″; thence south-easterly along
a right line bearing 115° 49′ 30″ to the lake shore aforesaid; thence easterly, south-easterly, and southerly
generally along the shore of the said lake to the left bank
of the Puarenga Stream; thence south-westerly generally along
that left bank to the southernmost corner of Nelson Street;
thence along a right line to and along the generally western
boundary of Section 6, Block I, aforesaid, to and south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary of part
Rotomahana-Parekarangi 4A (state forest: New Zealand
Gazette, 1906, p. 2506) to and northerly generally along the
left bank of the said Puarenga Stream to a point due west
of the northernmost corner of Whakarewarewa 2B; thence
due west to the western side of No. 5 State Highway; thence
northerly along the western sides of that highway and the
Old Taupo Road to the north-eastern corner of part Lot 2,
D.P. 23567, being part Rotorua Domain, New Zealand
Gazette, 1966, p. 1553; thence westerly generally along the
north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the said part
Lot 2, the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 23567,
being part Rotorua Domain, New Zealand Gazette, 1951, p.
300, and the northern and western boundaries of part Lot 2,
