The Traffic (Dunedin City) Notice 1968
———
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Dunedin City) Notice 1968.
-
All the roads within the area specified in the First Schedule hereto, with the exception of those roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

The Warrant under section 3 of the Motor-Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 14th day of December 1945, and the Warrants under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, dated the 25th day of August 1965, the 27th day of May 1966, and the 2nd day of June 1967, which relate to roads in the former Peninsula County and in Dunedin City are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED WITHIN DUNEDIN CITY
ALL that area including the former Peninsula County bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern side of the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road 14 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from Doon Street; thence across the said Dunedin-Harrington Point Road at right angles to its northern side to its southern side and the prolongation of that line to the northern side of Doon Street; thence easterly generally along that roadside to the eastern end of Doon Street; thence by a right line to a point on the northern side of the Dunedin-Portobello High Road 10 chains measured westerly generally along the said roadside from Harrington Road; thence by a right line in a southerly direction generally across the Dunedin-Portobello High Road to the southern end of Harrington Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Tomahawk Road at its intersection with the northern side of Glen Street; thence across Glen Street and along the north-eastern side of Tomahawk Road to and across the southern end of Glen Street; thence across Tomahawk Road at right angles to its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence due south by a right line to the sea coast; thence easterly and northerly generally along the sea coast to the Otago Harbour entrance; thence south-westerly generally along the southern shoreline of the Otago Harbour to the commencing point on the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road.

At Broad Bay—
Dunedin-Harrington Point Road (from John Street to Frances Street).
At Macandrew Bay—
Dunedin-Harrington Point Road (from a point 6 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from the north-eastern end of Marion Street to a point 8 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from District Road).
At Portobello—
Dunedin-Harrington Point Road (from a point 6 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from the northern end of Beaconsfield Road to a point 24 chains measured easterly generally along the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road from Athol Place).

SITUATED WITHIN DUNEDIN CITY
DUNEDIN-Harrington Point Road (from a point 14 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from Doon Street to a point 6 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from the north-eastern end of Marion Street, Macandrew Bay; from a point 8 chains measured northerly generally along the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road from District Road, Macandrew Bay, to John Street, Broad Bay; from Frances Street, Broad Bay, to a point 6 chains measured north-westerly generally along the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road from the northern end of Beaconsfield Road, Portobello; from Pipikaretu Road to a point 1 mile 28 chains measured northerly generally along the Dunedin-Harrington Point Road from Pipikaretu Road).
