ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 23rd day of July 1968

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground, for the common use and benefit of the Maori people of the district.

PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the district valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General, as at 1 August 1968.

The Glenfield High School Board of Governors Order 1968

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 51 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Glenfield High School Board of Governors Order 1968.

  2. The Board of Governors of Glenfield High School shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board;

(b) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;

(c) Two members appointed by the Birkdale Intermediate School Committee;

(d) Two members appointed by the Northcote Intermediate School Committee.

The Henderson High School Board of Governors Order 1968

ORDER IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 50 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Henderson High School Board of Governors Order 1968.

  2. Subject to the provisions of clause 3 of this order, the Board of Governors of the Henderson High School shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board:

(b) Three members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, being parents who are resident in the Henderson School District, the Henderson North School District, the Sunnyvale School District, and the Pomaria Road School District:

(c) One member elected by the parents of pupils attending the school, being parents who are resident in the Oratia School District and the Henderson Valley School District:

(d) Two members elected by the parents of pupils attending the school, being parents who are resident in the Ranui School District, the Massey-Birdwood School District, the Swanson School District, and the Waitakere School District:

(e) Two members co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Board shall, where any other secondary school is for the time being placed under its control, appoint five additional members to represent the parents of the pupils attending that school.

  2. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of school districts to which paragraphs (b), (c), and (d) of clause 2 of this order apply.

  3. The Henderson High School Board of Governors Order 1963* is hereby revoked.

The Wellington Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 4

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Wellington Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 4, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wellington Savings Bank Order 1964* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. Investments—(1) The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clause 11 (as substituted by clause 2 of the Wellington Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 3), and substituting the following clause:

“11. Investments—Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (5) and (6) of section 24 of the Act, money which is invested under paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 24 of the Act on mortgages of estates or interests in land occupied or to be occupied by officers of the bank for residential purposes, shall be invested on such terms and conditions as the Minister may approve in writing.”

(2) The Wellington Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 3, is hereby consequently revoked.

Appointments, Promotions, and Terminations of Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to the Navy Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, and terminations of appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy.

Commander W. J. Willis, to be released (age), to date 12 September 1968. Placed on Retired List, to date 13 September 1968.

Commander N. D. Anderson, O.B.E., promoted to rank of Captain and reappointed, to date 30 June 1968.

Lieutenant Commander F. E. J. Mason, engagement extended to 24 October 1971.

Lieutenant Commander D. B. Domett, promoted to rank of Commander and reappointed, to date 30 June 1968.

Lieutenant Commander T. H. Wickman, engagement extended to 19 October 1972.
