LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE
—
Naenae Library Loan 1968, $68,000
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of sixty-eight thousand dollars ($68,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a branch library at Naenae, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.047 of a cent in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) on all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate, made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until such time as the loan is paid off”.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on 24 June 1968.

Reserves Development Loan No. 10, 1968, $48,000
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of forty-eight thousand dollars ($48,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the Council nursery, meeting part of the cost of developing Fraser Park, and providing a children’s play area and fencing at Avalon Park, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.033 of a cent in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) on all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate, made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until such time as the loan is paid off”;

WAIMATE WEST COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
Rural Housing Loan 1968, $40,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waimate West County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of forty thousand dollars ($40,000) authorised to be raised by the Waimate West County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing advances under the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Waimate West County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought one eight four eight cents (.01848c) in the $ on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Waimate West, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half yearly, the first such payment to be made not later than 6 months after the date of payment of the first instalment, and subsequently in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water and Sewerage Renewal Loan 1968—$15,000
PASSED by Council at a meeting on 8 July 1968:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on the said loan of $15,000 authorised to be raised by the Alexandra Borough Council, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Water and Sewerage Loan 1957, $20,000, which matures on 1 July 1968, the Alexandra Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of .0585 of a cent in the $ upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Alexandra; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Deputy Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 11th day of July 1968, cancelled the registry of Te Maunga Rebekah Lodge No. 103, a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand Friendly Society (Register No. 146/283) held at Mount Maunganui, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist..

WINTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER INCREASING NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS
—
THE following special order was passed at a special meeting held for that purpose on Tuesday, 21 May 1968, at 9.45 p.m.
Resolved and carried that, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53 (2) of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Winton Borough Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, to increase the membership of the Council from six to seven councillors; and that this order shall take effect on the date that the Returning Officer declares the result of the next triennial general election of councillors, except in so far as it is necessary to be effective before that date to enable the necessary procedures to be completed to fill the vacancy.
The above resolution was duly confirmed at a meeting held on Tuesday, 2 July 1968, at 7.30 p.m.
