PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the accessway described in the Schedule hereto shall on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Manukau and be under the control and management of the Manukau City Council.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground, as fenced, and camping ground for the benefit of the Maori people of the Mahinepua district generally.

The St. Mark's Burial Ground Clearance Order 1968

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 1st day of July 1968
Present:

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 45 of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the St. Mark's Burial Ground Clearance Order 1968.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.
  2. It is hereby directed that, notwithstanding anything in section 41 or section 42 of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964, no further burials shall take place in the St. Mark's Burial Ground at Remuera in the City of Auckland which was closed by an Order in Council dated the 29th day of October 1930* and which is described in the Schedule to that Order in Council.
  3. The General Trust Board of the Diocese of Auckland is hereby authorised to remove all monuments and tablets erected in that burial ground.
