CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Renewal Loan (No. 1) 1968—$142,150

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities' Loans Act 1956, and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“'That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and forty-two thousand one hundred and fifty dollars ($142,150) to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments for the purpose of repaying on maturity those portions of the Roading Loan 1955, $1,000,000; Aerodrome Development Loan, 1957 $800,000; Street Improvements Loan 1957, $480,000; and Waterworks Supplementary Loan 1953, $70,000; which mature on 1 July and 4 August 1968, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of $0.0001505 on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan.”

The Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 17th day of June 1968, passed the above resolution.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STOP PORTION OF ROAD

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of a road, and for the purposes of that public work the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto are required to be stopped. And further notice is hereby given that a plan of the portion of road required to be stopped is deposited in the office of the Tauranga County Council, Barke's Corner, Cameron Road, Tauranga, and is there open for inspection: that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the stopping of the said portions of road, should, if they have any objections to the execution of the said public work or the stopping of the said portions of road, not being objections to the amount or payment of compensation, set forth the same in writing and send the written objection, within 40 days of the first publication of this notice, to the Tauranga County Council at Tauranga: and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held unless the objector otherwise requires and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the Council meeting at which the hearing will be heard.

LOST STOCK CERTIFICATE

APPLICATION has been made to the above company to issue a new certificate of title in lieu of original certificate No. 54024 issued in the name of Geoffrey Herbert Seavill, of Muriwai Beach, 1 R.D. Waimauku, and the said Geoffrey Herbert Seavill has made a statutory declaration that the original certificate of title to the said stock has been lost.

Notice is hereby given that unless within 30 days from the date hereof there is made to the company some claim or representation in respect of the said original certificate a new certificate will be issued in place thereof.

UPPER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER

Altering Number of Councillors

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Upper Hutt City Council resolves by way of special order as follows:

“1. In lieu of eight Councillors the City Council shall consist of 10 Councillors, exclusive of the Mayor.

  1. The alteration hereby made in the number of Councillors shall take effect at the general election of Councillors to be held in the month of October 1968, except insofar and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.”

The foregoing resolution was passed by way of special order at a special meeting of the Upper Hutt City Council held on the 1st day of April 1968. It was publicly notified in the Leader on the 17th day of April and the 1st day of May 1968, and confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 6th day of May 1968.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS TRUST BOARD EMPOWERING AMENDMENT

IN the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Private Bills and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to Amend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Trust Board Empowering Act 1957”.

Notice is hereby given that Rulon Gerald Craven, of Auckland, the duly appointed Mission President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand and the Chairman of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Trust Board intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for the passing of the above-mentioned Bill.

The objects of the Bill are:

(a) To repeal the existing rules of the said Board set forth in the second part of the Schedule to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Trust Board Empowering Act 1957:

(b) To proved a set of new rules for the said Board.

The promoter of the Bill is the above-named Rulon Gerald Craven whose address is care of Messrs Luke, Cunningham, and Clere, Solicitors, 166–168 Featherston Street, Wellington, to which address all communications and notices may be sent.

!Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, and the Bill may be inspected at the office of Messrs Luke, Cunningham, and Clere the appointed solicitors for the promoter at the address aforesaid and also at the office of Messrs Sellar, Bone, and Cowell, solicitors for the Board at their legal office, Globe Chambers, 11 Swanson Street, Auckland.
