HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order shall come into force on the 31st day of March 1968.

The area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the district of the County of Ashburton and included in the district of the County of Ellesmere.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made, shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton County, containing 11,091 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle line of the Rakaia River and the south-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway and proceeding south-easterly down the middle line of the Rakaia River (passing through Great Island) and its production to the sea coast; thence south-westerly along the mean high-water mark of the sea to a point in line with the right bank of the Rakaia River; thence north-westerly to and along that bank and the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 786 to the south-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that highway to the point of commencement.
