Maori Land Development Notice

WHEREAS by virtue of the notice described in the First Schedule hereto certain lands are now subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 and whereas by subsequent orders of the Maori Land Court certain other lands were amalgamated with these lands and the appellations of the lands were changed and whereas it is therefore considered necessary to have the notice in the First Schedule replaced, now, therefore, pursuant to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 the Board of Maori Affairs gives notice as follows.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Maori Land Development Notice Rotorua 1968, No. 1.

2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby replaced by this notice.

3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

PURSUANT to section 86 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration of the North Auckland Master Butchers Industrial Union of Employers, Registered No. 1947, situated at Marshalls Buildings, Bank Street, Whangarei, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

SPECIAL ORDER

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it under section 23 and section 88 of the Counties Act 1956 and all amendments thereto and each and every power and authority thereunto enabling it, the Waimairi County Council, acting on behalf of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waimairi, hereby resolves, by way of special order, the following riding boundary adjustments, as more particularly defined hereunder:

(i) Styx Riding—Papanui Riding Adjustments:

That the following defined portion of the county at present part of the Styx Riding be transferred to the Papanui Riding:

That portion of the county, bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the centre lines of Farquhars Road, Grimseys Road, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally along the centre line of Grimseys Road to the centre line of Prestons Road; thence in an easterly direction generally along the centre line of Prestons Road for a distance of 610 links approximately; thence in a northerly direction generally along the common boundary of part Lot 2 and Lot 1, D.P. 5223, and Lot 21, D.P. 19819, and that line produced for a distance of 1840 links approximately to the centre line of Farquhars Road produced and thence in a westerly direction along the centre line of Farquhars Road produced to the point of commencement and containing Lot 1 and part Lot 2, D.P. 5223, and part Lot 2, D.P. 1844.

(ii) Belfast Riding—Harewood Riding Adjustment:

That the following defined portion of the county at present part of the Harewood Riding be transferred to the Belfast Riding:

That portion of the county bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the centre lines of Englefield Road and the Main North Road and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the centre line of the Main North Road for a distance of approximately 3 chains; thence in a north-westerly direction along the common boundary of Lots 6 and 7, D.P. 17889; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the common boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 17889, and Lot 2, D.P. 22856; and thence along a bearing of 295° 22′ 30″ for a distance of 1257.51 links; thence along a bearing of 205° 29′ 20″ for a distance of 63.3 links; thence along a bearing of 297° 00′ for a distance of 346.89 links; thence along a bearing of 256° 56′ for a distance of 85.91 links; thence along a bearing of 291° 48′ for a distance of 102.25 links to the centre of the Kaputone Stream; thence along the centre of the Kaputone Stream in a north-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 1 chain; thence along a bearing of 295° 22′ 30″ for a distance of 2014.52 links; thence along a bearing of 27° 03′ 30″ for a distance 300 links to the centre line of Englefield Road; thence along the centre line of Englefield Road to the point of commencement at the Main North Road and containing Lots 7–11 inclusive, D.P. 17889, Lots 12–22 inclusive, D.P. 18150, Lot 1, D.P. 22156, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 25313, Lots 1–4 inclusive, D.P. 24735, Lots 1–18 inclusive, D.P. 19153, part Lot 2, D.P. 22856, parts Lot 2, D.P. 22979, and part Lot 1, D.P. 17724.

(iii) That the alterations hereby made to the boundaries of the Styx and Papanui Ridings and the Belfast and Harewood Ridings shall take effect on and after the day of the next triennial election, viz, 12 October 1968.

BOUNDARIES OF HAREWOOD RIDING

ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle line of Russley and Wairakei Roads, being a point on the boundary of the County of Waimairi as described in Gazette, 1953, p. 1991, and proceeding north-easterly generally along that boundary to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 5697; thence southerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of Johns Road; thence easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. 351; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary, the abutment of Englefield Road, and the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 19153, to the westernmost corner of that lot; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 19153, along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 19153, along the south-western boundaries of Lots 4 to 18 inclusive, D.P. 19153, along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 24735, and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 24735, to the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 25313; thence south-easterly generally along the general south-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 25313, and the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 22156, and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 22156, to the westernmost corner of Lot 22, D.P. 18150; thence again south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 22 to 12 inclusive, D.P. 18150, along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 11, D.P. 17889, and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 11 and 10, D.P. 17889, to the north-western boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 17889; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that lot and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Main North Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to and westerly along the middle of Styx Mill Road to and south-westerly along the middle of Cavendish Road, Grampian Street, and Veitch Road to and south-easterly along the middle of Sawyers Arms Road to and south-westerly along the middle of Greers Road to the boundary of the County of Waimairi aforesaid; thence continuing south-easterly along that boundary to the middle of Wairakei Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to the point of commencement.
