Amendment to the Rules of The Royal Society of New
Zealand
PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965
the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the
annual general meeting held on 15 May 1968, passed a resolution
amending the rules of the Society published in the
Gazette on 22 December 1965, the effect of such resolution
being:
SECTION L—FELLOWS
Rule L. 6 was amended to read:
L. 6. Nominations may be made by member bodies or by
groups of fellows. Nominations by fellows must be signed
by not less than three fellows. Each of the member bodies
may nominate as many persons as it thinks fit. Each nomination
must be accompanied by five copies of a curriculum
vitae, full bibliography, a statement of up to 500 words
indicating the reasons why the candidate is worthy of election,
supported by one set of significant publications, and an
indication of the appropriate advisory panel or panels that
should consider his candidature. When a candidate is nominated
by more than one member body or group of fellows
it shall be sufficient to utilise the information supplied by
one member body or group of fellows. Where a candidate
was also nominated in the previous year the statement
utilised with that nomination may again be used. The consent
of the candidate must be obtained in writing when he is
first nominated. All nominations must reach the General
Secretary before 15 November in the year preceding the
year of election.

Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows.

Notice Hamilton 1968, No. 1. -

declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs
Act 1953.

Amendments Available for Comment
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965, notice
is hereby given that the British standards, revisions, and
amendments listed in the Schedule hereto may be considered
for adoption as New Zealand standard specifications or for
endorsement as being suitable for use in New Zealand. All
persons who may be affected by them and who desire to comment
thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from
the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag,
