Waikato Technical Institute Order 1968

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of May 1968

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Waikato Technical Institute Order 1968.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of August 1968.

  2. The Board of Governors of Waikato Technical Institute shall be constituted as follows:
    (a) One member elected by the members of the county councils comprising the No. 2 Ward of the New Zealand Counties’ Association;
    (b) One member appointed by the South Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers (Inc.);
    (c) One member appointed by the Waikato Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry;
    (d) One member appointed by the Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Waikato Provincial District) Inc.;
    (e) One member appointed by the Waikato Manufacturers’ Association;
    (f) One member appointed by the South Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants;
    (g) Two members appointed by the Waikato District Trades Council of the New Zealand Federation of Labour;
    (h) Two members elected by the associations of employers in local industries;
    (i) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Waikato;
    (j) One member appointed by the Waikato Council of Building Trades;
    (k) One member appointed by the Hamilton City Council;
    (l) Four members co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  3. The Superintendent of Education, Auckland, or his deputy, shall be an associate member of the Board of Governors of Waikato Technical Institute entitled to be present and to be heard at any meeting of the Board or of any committee of the Board; but he shall not be entitled to vote at any such meeting.

  4. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the members of the Board of Governors of Waikato Technical Institute shall hold office for a term of three years, but may from time to time be reappointed or re-elected.
    (2) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of July in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if on the 31st day of July the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Board, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment or election is notified.
    (3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the Board for three consecutive months, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected, and the member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
    (4) The powers of the Board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

Fraser High School Board of Governors Order 1968

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of May 1968

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to sections 50 and 51 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Fraser High School Board of Governors Order 1968.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of August 1968.

  2. The Board of Governors of the school formerly known as Hamilton Technical College and now known as Fraser High School shall be constituted as follows:
    (a) One member appointed by the South Auckland Education Board;
    (b) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;
    (c) One member appointed by the Hamilton City Council;
    (d) One member representing the employees in local industries, appointed by the Waikato District Trades Council, New Zealand Federation of Labour;
    (e) One member elected by the associations of employers in local industries;
    (f) One member appointed by the Technical and Fraser High School Old Girls’ Association;
    (g) One member elected by the members of the school committees of the Maeroa Intermediate School, the Frankton State Primary School, the Rhode Street State Primary School, the Forest Lake State Primary School, the Hamilton West State Primary School, the Te Rapa State Primary School, the Rotokauri State Primary School, the Vardon State Primary School, the Whiti ora State Primary School, the Whatawhata State Primary School, and the Newton State Primary School.

  3. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (g) of clause 2 of this order applies.

The Bay of Plenty Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 2

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of May 1968

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Bay of Plenty Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Bay of Plenty Savings Bank Order 1964* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. Investments—(1) The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clause 11 (as substituted by clause 2 of the Bay of Plenty Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 1), and substituting the following clause:
    “11. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (5) and (6) of section 24 of the Act, money which is invested under paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 24 of the Act on mortgages of estates or interests in land occupied or to be occupied by officers of the Bank for residential purposes shall be invested on such terms and conditions as the Minister may approve in writing.”
    (2) The Bay of Plenty Savings Bank Order 1964, Amendment No. 1, is hereby consequentially revoked.
