Boundaries of Borough of Taupo, County of Taupo, and the Kaingaroa, Tauhara, and Pouakani Ridings of County of Taupo Defined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Taupo, the County of Taupo, and the Kaingaroa, Tauhara, and Pouakani Ridings of the County of Taupo; the previous boundaries having been altered by two Orders in Council made on 18 January 1967 and published in Gazette, 19 January 1967, No. 2, page 38; and also by Orders in Council made on 20 February 1967, and published in Gazette, 23 February 1967, No. 11, page 259; on 24 May 1967, and published in Gazette, 1 June 1967, No. 35, page 955; and on 19 October 1967, and published in Gazette, 19 October 1967, No. 66, page 1820.

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, containing 2,690 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing
at the intersection of the right bank of the Waikato River with the middle of the Otumuheke Stream, in Block II, Tauhara Survey District, and proceeding easterly up the middle of the said stream to the intersection of the north-western boundary of part Section 4, Block II, aforesaid (Public Domain, Gazette, 1888, page 1051); thence north-easterly, easterly, and southerly along the north-western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the said section, crossing an intervening public road, to the northernmost corner of Section 40, Block II, aforesaid (part Taupo Domain, Gazette, 1955, page 978); thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of the said section and Section 41, Block II, aforesaid (part Taupo Domain, Gazette, 1954, page 496), to the northern side of Rotokawa Road, and along a right line crossing the said road to the angle opposite the last-named boundary; thence westerly along the southern side of that road, to and southerly generally along a series of right lines crossing part Tauhara Middle No. 1, 244° 42′ 20″, 222.03 links; 143° 26′ 20″, 825.59 links; 186° 22′ 20″, 281.44 links, 161° 21′, 714.52 links; 115° 57′, 333.86 links and 193° 36′ 20″, 504.13 links; thence southerly along another right line to the angle on the northern side of Paetiki Road opposite the north-eastern corner of part Section 22, Block II, aforesaid, along a right line crossing the said road to the said north-eastern corner to and along the eastern boundary of the said part Section 22, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P.S. 5096, to the northern side of National State Highway No. 5; thence easterly along that side to the eastern end of a line bearing 109° 20′ and measuring 995.4 links as shown on Survey Office Plan 16058 being a point on the northern side on the aforesaid State Highway No. 5; thence generally southerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 51, Block VI, of the aforesaid survey district; thence generally south-westerly along the generally south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 51, the eastern end of the Old Taupo-Napier Road, the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 89, D.P. 33323, and part Section 1, Block VI, aforesaid, and the last-named boundary produced to its intersection with the production south-easterly of the north-eastern boundary of Section 34, Block VI, aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and along the last-named boundary and its production to a point on the eastern shore of Lake Taupo; thence generally north-easterly along that lake shore and the right bank of the Waikato River to a point in line with the generally north-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 8698, and proceeding north-westerly along a right line to and along the last-mentioned boundary and its production to and generally north-westerly along the generally north-eastern boundary of part Nukuhau Block, as shown on D.P. 8698, to the easternmost corner of part Lot 5, D.P. 8698; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that part Lot 5 aforesaid, and its production to the generally north-western side of Acacia Bay Road; thence generally north-easterly along that roadside to, and north-westerly along, the north-eastern boundary of part Rangatira 8A 5C 5 Block to its northernmost corner; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundary of the Taupo Central Block and its production, crossing two intervening public roads, to the generally eastern side of State Highway No. 1; thence generally southerly along that side to, and generally north-easterly along the right bank of the Waikato River, aforesaid, to the point of commencement.
