SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and of every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves by way of special order, that Sedge (Carex longebrachiata also known as Carex longifolia) be declared a noxious weed within the County of Raglan as from the first day of June 1968.

Special Order Made by Coromandel County Council Altering Riding Boundaries and Riding Representation


PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, I hereby publish the following special order made by the Coromandel County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Counties Act 1956, the Coromandel County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:

  1. That pursuant to section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, two of the four existing Ridings be re-named as follows:

Old Name New Name
Coromandel Riding .... Waiau Riding
Whitianga Riding ..... Mercury Bay Riding

  1. That pursuant to section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Riding constituted under clause 3 of this resolution be named as follows:

Area Name
Coromandel County Town Coromandel Riding
Whitianga County Town Whitianga Riding

  1. That pursuant to section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the boundaries of the Waiau Riding, Whenuakite Riding, and Mercury Bay Riding be altered and the Coromandel Riding and Whitianga Riding be constituted as set out in the Schedule attached hereto.

  2. That pursuant to section 36 of the Counties Act 1956, the Coromandel County Council shall consist of nine members who shall be elected as follows:

Representing Coromandel Riding (new name) ... 1 member.
Representing Waiau Riding (new name) ... 1 member.
Representing Colville Riding (new name) ... 1 member.
Representing Whenuakite Riding ... 2 members.
Representing Whitianga Riding (new name) ... 2 members.
Representing Mercury Bay Riding (new name) 2 members.

The alteration hereby made in the number of members of the said Council and the boundaries of the said Ridings shall take effect at the general election of Councillors to be held in the year 1968 except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.


SCHEDULE

WHITIANGA RIDING

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Coromandel County, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Kuaotunu 6F Block being a point on the mean high-water mark situated in Block VII, Otama Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that block, and its production across a public road, to and generally north-westerly along the generally north-eastern side of that road, to and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 23, D.P.S. 6719, to and generally north-westerly and generally south-westerly along the generally south-western and generally south-eastern boundaries of part Kuaotunu 4B Block comprised in part certificate of title, Volume 1755, folio 98, to and generally south-westerly along the generally north-western side of a public road and the generally south-eastern boundary of part Kawakawa Block comprised in part certificate of title, Volume 1408, folio 54, to the southernmost corner of that block; thence southerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Lot 32, D.P.S. 3542, being a point on the generally south-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P.S. 4725; thence generally south-westerly along that boundary, to and generally south-easterly along the generally north-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P.S. 34497, to the westernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P.S. 1390; thence along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced, to the left bank of the Taputapuatea Stream; thence generally southerly along that left bank to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 7, D.P.S. 2792; thence south-westerly along a right line in the direction of the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P.S. 4222, to a point 250 links beyond that corner, in part Lot 1, D.P.S. 367; thence southerly along a further right line to the southernmost corner of that part Lot 1 aforesaid; thence generally southerly along the generally western boundary of the land shown on D.P.S. 6242, to and along a right line across Racecourse Road to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P.S. 6144; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of that Lot 1, and part Waiti No. 1 Block as shown on D.P. 402, to the southernmost corner of Lot 82, D.P. 23222, along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 83, D.P. 23222; and again the south-eastern boundary of part Waiti No. 1 aforesaid, to the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P.S. 10059; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of that Lot 1, and the western boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P.S. 10059, and the production of that last-mentioned boundary to its intersection with the production northerly of the western boundary of Lot 17, D.P.S. 6926; thence southerly along that northern production, to and along the aforesaid western boundary and the western boundaries of Lots 18, 19, 20, and 21, along a right line, to and along the western boundaries of Lots 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, D.P.S. 6926, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary of its intersection with the production north-westerly of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P.S. 467, situated in Block X, Otama Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line parallel to the north-western boundary of Lot 15, D.P.S. 467, to and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, Section A, D.P. 462, to and south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that Lot 5, to a point in line with the last-mentioned right line; thence again south-westerly along the production of that right line, to and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of part Whakau Block as shown on D.P. 1228A and Lot 15, D.P.S. 9324, along a right line across State Highway No. 25, to and along the south-eastern boundary of part Whakau Block as shown on D.P. 1012A, and that last-mentioned boundary produced to the mean high-water mark in the Whitianga Harbour; thence along that mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.

COROMANDEL RIDING

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Coromandel County, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of part Allotment 11, Kapanga Parish, as comprised in certificate of title, Volume 572, folio 274, being a point on the left bank of the Whangarahi Stream situated in Block II, Coromandel Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of that part Allotment 11, along a right line across a public road, to and easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of parts Allotment 11, Kapanga Parish, as comprised in certificates of title, Volume 572, folios 282, 281, and 280, to and westerly along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned part Allotment 11, to and generally south-westerly along the left bank of Copelands Creek, to a point in line with the northern boundary of part Allotment 11 of the aforesaid parish, as comprised in certificate of title, Volume 572, folio 283; thence south-easterly along a right line to the easternmost corner of part Allotment 11, Kapanga Parish, as comprised in certificate of title, Volume 572, folio 285, southerly along the eastern boundary, to and again southerly along a further right line to the westernmost corner of Section 33A, Village of Buffalo (Cemetery, N.Z. Gazette, 1872, page 355); thence generally southerly along the generally western boundary of that Section 33A, to the northern side of a public road; thence south-westerly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 32, Village of Buffalo, and generally south-easterly along the generally south-western boundary of that section, to the easternmost corner of Section 34, of the aforesaid Village of Buffalo; thence south-easterly along a right line to and along the south-western boundary of part Karaka No. 1 Block and its production to the left bank of the Whakanekeke Stream situated in Block VI, Coromandel Survey District; thence generally easterly along that left bank to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Taumatawahine Block as comprised in certificate of title, Volume 572, folio 40; thence south-easterly along a right line to and along that last-mentioned boundary and its production to the left bank of the Taumatawahine Stream; thence generally south-westerly along that left bank to and south-westerly along the south-western boundary of Otumohokauri Block as shown on D.P. 1524, to and generally south-westerly along the generally north-western boundaries of Otumohonui Block, Otumohoti Block, Parangu No. 15 Block, and Iwituaroa Block, to and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that last-mentioned block, and its production to the left bank of the Karaka Stream; thence generally easterly along that left bank and the left bank of the Pitoti Stream, to and generally south-westerly along the generally south-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 26043 (Quarry and Dump, N.Z.
