BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF PATEA
ALL that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Manawapou River and proceeding up the middle of that river, the middle of the Ingahape Stream, and the middle of the Poroporo Stream to its source in Block IX, Opaku Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station Tarere, along another right line to a point in the middle of the Patea River in line with the south-western boundary of the Rotorangi Block, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of the said block, to and along that boundary and the western and northern boundaries of Subdivision 3 of Kaharoa 3 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern side of Whenuakura Valley Road; thence southerly along that side to the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block III, Opaku Survey District; thence generally easterly along that boundary and the generally northern boundaries of that section, Sections 1 and 2, Block IV, Opaku Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Lower Moeawatea Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the generally north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Opaku Survey District, to and along that boundary, the generally northern boundary of Section 10, Block IV, aforesaid, to and along the western boundary of Section 4, Block I, Kapara Survey District and its production to the middle of Rawhitiroa Road; thence generally northerly along the middle of that road and Koane Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 17, Block XII, Omoana Survey District, to and along that boundary to a point in line with the southern boundary of Block VII, Taurakawa Survey District; thence easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the summit of the western watershed of the Wanganui River; thence southerly along that summit, through Trig. Station Maungarau, to the middle of Pokeka Road in Block XII, Taurakawa Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the middle of that road, Pipiriki Road, and Watershed Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 2764, in Block VIII, Moumahaki Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary to the western boundary of that lot; thence generally south-easterly along the generally western, south-western, and southern boundaries of that lot to a point due north of the intersection of the western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 2765, and the left bank of the Mangapapa Stream; thence due south to that intersection; thence generally southerly along the generally western boundary of the said Lot 3, and its production to the northern boundary of Manga-nuiotahu Block; thence generally south-westerly along that boundary and the generally north-western boundaries of that block, crossing Piraunui Road, to and down the middle of the Te Korokio Stream to its confluence with the Mangamingi Stream; thence up the middle of that stream to and southerly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XIV, Moumahaki Survey District, to and along the western side of Upper Pakaraka Road to the southern boundary of the said Section II; thence westerly along that boundary and the southern boundaries of Section 12, Block XIV, aforesaid, and Section 9, Block II, Nukumaru Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Rangitatua 1D 3; thence generally southerly along the generally eastern boundaries of that subdivision and Section 14, Block I, Nukumaru Survey District, a right line across the Mangapunipuni Stream to and along the eastern boundary of Section 12, Block I, aforesaid, the abutment of Waitotara Road, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 4 and 28, Block V, Nukumaru Survey District, to Trig. Station Wharekarangi; thence generally westerly along the southern boundaries of the said Section 28, to and down the middle of the Mangaone Stream to its confluence with the Waitotara River; thence generally south-westerly down the middle of that river to the sea coast; thence north-westerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Waverley Town District, hereinbefore described, and the Borough of Patea, as described in N.Z. Gazette 1882, page 124.

Special Order Made by Waipara County Council Altering the Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, I hereby publish the following special order made by Waipara County Council.

Dated at Wellington this 26th day of April 1968.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Waipara County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:

  1. The present subdivision of the County into six ridings shall be revoked and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into six ridings to be called respectively Glenmark, Waikari, Hawarden, Hurunui, Scargill, and Stonyhurst Ridings which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The said County shall consist of six members who shall be elected as follows: the electors of each riding shall elect one councillor.

  3. The alterations hereby made shall take effect on and after the day of the next triennial election, viz, the 12th day of October 1968.

  4. Schedule defining the new boundaries:

GLENMARK RIDING
ALL that area in the Waipara County, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark of the sea in line with the middle of the Waipara River and proceeding north-westerly generally along the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of Doctors Hills Road; thence north-easterly generally to and along the middle of that road to the middle of Weka Creek; thence easterly generally along the middle of that creek to the middle of No. 7 S.H.; thence due east to the middle of the Waiau Branch Railway; thence northerly generally along the middle of that railway to a point in line with the middle of the public road forming the northern boundary of Part Lot 1, D.P. 3186; thence easterly generally to and along the middle of that road and the northern boundary of Sec. 1, Glenmark Settlement, and its production to the middle of Glenmark Road; thence northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 9958; thence northerly to and along that boundary and easterly along the northern boundary of that lot to the north-western boundary of Sec. 5, Glenmark Settlement; thence easterly and southerly generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of that section and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Spurtelton Valley Road; thence easterly generally along the middle of that road, Jurys Road, and No. 1 S.H. to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Pt. ALL that area in the Waipara County, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waipara River in line with the middle of Doctors Hills Road and proceeding north-westerly along the middle of that river and the middle of the Waipara River (North Branch) to a point in line with the middle of the unformed road forming the south-western boundary of Pt. Lot 1, D.P. 11934; thence north-westerly to and along the middle of that road to the middle of Broxton Road; thence north-easterly generally along the middle of that road, Pyramid Valley Road, Horsley Down Road, Gemmells Road, and Hawarden Hurunui Road to the middle of No. 7 S.H.; thence northerly along the middle of that State highway and the middle of the public road forming the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 7956, to the middle of the Waitohi River; thence easterly generally along the middle of that river and the Hurunui River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of R.S. 25523; thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary, across a public road and the north-western boundaries of R.S's 36321 and 36322, and southerly along the western boundary of R.S. 36322 to the north side of the public road intersecting R.S. 23815; thence westerly along that roadside and the southern boundaries of R.S's 22350 and 22351 and northerly along the western boundaries of R.S's 22351, 22352, 22353, and 22354 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Scargill Creek; thence westerly along the middle of that creek to a point in line with the western boundary of Pt.
