Boundaries of County of Clutha and the Clydevale and Glenkenich Ridings of County of Clutha Defined


PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the County of Clutha and the Clydevale and Glenkenich Ridings of the County of Clutha; the previous boundaries having been altered by Orders in Council made on 8 March 1965, and published in Gazette, 18 March 1965, No. 13, page 840; and on 22 September 1965, and published in Gazette, 30 September, 1956, No. 56, page 1652.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF CLUTHA

ALL that area situated in the Otago and Southland Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of Long Beach Creek in Block XIII, Tautuku Survey District, and proceeding generally north-easterly along the sea coast to the middle of the mouth of the Clutha River; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of the Koau Branch of that river and the middle of the Clutha River to its confluence with the Blackcleugh Burn; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of that burn to the northern boundary of Block VI, Rankleburn Survey District; thence generally westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of that block to a point due west of Trig Station D in Section 38, Block VI, Rankleburn Survey District; thence due west to the middle of Back Stream (East Branch); thence generally south-westerly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Pomahaka River; thence generally south-westerly and north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point bearing 29° from the southernmost corner of the land shown on D.P. 5574, Block III, Greenvale Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to that corner; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of the land shown on D.P. 5574 to the westernmost corner of that land; thence due north to the middle of the Pomahaka River; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Leithen Burn; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of that burn to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Chatton Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary and easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Waikaka Survey District to the northern side of a public road intersecting Section 4, Block XI, Waipahi Survey District; thence easterly along the northern side of that road and its production to the middle of the Waipahi River; thence generally south-easterly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 28, Block V, Waipahi Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the eastern side of a public road forming the eastern boundary of Section 24, Block XII, Waipahi Survey District; thence south-westerly along a line bearing 246° 47′ for a distance of 50.2 links to the middle of
