Boundaries of Borough of Waitara, County of Clifton, and the Tikorangi, Urenui, and Uruti Ridings of the County of Clifton Defined


PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Waitara, the County of Clifton, and the Tikorangi, Urenui, and Uruti Ridings of the County of Clifton, the previous boundaries having been altered by Orders in Council made on 12 February 1962, and published in Gazette, 22 February 1962, No. 13, page 332, and on 28 February 1966, and published in Gazette, 10 March 1966, No. 13, page 333.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF WAITARA

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District containing 1,610.5 acres bounded by a line commencing at low-water mark of the Tasman Sea at the western boundary of A2, Part Reserve A, Waitara West District, Block I, Paritutu Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly along the low-water mark of the sea to the western side of the training wall on the western side of the mouth of the Waitara River; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the south-western and north-western side of the said training wall to high-water mark; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along high-water mark to a point in line with the southern side of Howard Street; thence easterly along a right line to a point on the western side of East Quay in line with the southern side of Howard Street; thence northerly along the western side of East Quay to the northern side of Howard Street; thence easterly along the northern side of Howard Street to the right bank of the Waitara River; thence generally northerly along that bank, to and generally easterly along the high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to the eastern boundary of Section 81B, Waitara East District; thence southerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Section 81A, Waitara East District, to the northern side of Howard Street; thence easterly along the northern side of Howard Street to a point in line with the western boundary of part Section 1, Waitara East District; thence southerly along a right line across Howard Street, to and southerly along the western boundary of the said part Section 1 and the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 5210, to and easterly along the southern boundary of that lot and the southern boundary of the afore-

mentioned part Section 1, to and southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 2 and 5, Waitara East District, to and easterly along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section and the southern boundary of Section 86, Waitara East District, to and generally south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Section 7, Waitara East District, to and easterly along the southern boundary of that section to the western side of Elliot Street; thence southerly along the western side of that street, to and along a right line across Bayly Street, to and again along the western side of Elliot Street to the northern boundary of Section 23, Waitara East District; thence westerly along that boundary to and southerly along its western boundary and the western boundary of Section 28, Waitara East District, to the southern boundary of Section 84, Waitara East District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that section and the northern boundary of Section 32, Waitara East District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the western side of Princess Street; thence north-easterly along the western side of that street across Joll Street to and again north-easterly along the western side of Princess Street to a point in line with the northern boundary of part Subdivision 2 of Section 16, Waitara East District, as defined on D.P. 3617; thence westerly along a right line being a production of the northern boundary of that subdivision to a point in line with south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6314; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundary of that lot, the south-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 6314, Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 8385, Lot 1, D.P. 7283, Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 8911, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 4778; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 4778, Lot 1, D.P. 4783 and Lot 2, D.P. 8928 and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the north-western boundary of Section 13, Waitara East District; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that section and Section 12, Waitara East District, to and southerly along the western boundary of the said Section 12, to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 14, Waitara East District, to its westernmost corner; thence southerly along the eastern side of Manukorihi Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Waitara East District; thence westerly across Manukorihi Road to and along the southern boundary of the said Section 18 to the right bank of the Waitara River; thence generally north-westerly along the right bank of that river to a point due east of the confluence of the Waitara River and the Mangahinau Stream; thence westerly along a right line across the Waitara River to and along the middle of the Mangahinau Stream to the western side of Nelson Street; thence northerly along the western side of that street to the north-western boundary of 29B 1 and 29D 2, Sub 1, Waitara West District; thence south-westerly along that boundary and the north-western boundaries of part 29B 1, and 29D 2, Sub 2, 29D 1, and part 29C, Waitara West District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced across the New Plymouth-Waitara railway to and along the north-western boundary of Sub 2 of Section 29, Waitara West District, to the easternmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 9304; thence generally northerly along the western side of the New Plymouth-Waitara railway to and along the eastern boundaries of Lots 3 and 1, D.P. 9551, to the western side of Ranfurly Street; thence northerly along the western side of that street, across Raleigh Street, to and again northerly along the western side of Ranfurly Street to the southern side of Brown Road; thence westerly along the southern side of Brown Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 136, Waitara West District; thence along a right line across Brown Road to and along the western boundary of the said Section 136 and its production to high-water mark; thence easterly along high-water mark to the western boundary of A2 part Reserve A, Waitara West District; thence northerly along that boundary to low-water mark, the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF CLIFTON

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of the Mokau River and proceeding easterly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Lot 5, D.P. 3836; thence easterly to and along the southern boundary of the aforesaid part Lot 5 and southerly, easterly, and northerly along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section 8, Block III, Mokau Survey District, to and generally northerly along the eastern boundaries of part Section 3 and Subdivision 2 of Section 3, Block III, Mokau Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Mokau River; thence up the middle of the Mokau River to a point in line with the western boundary of the Mokau-Mohakatino 1H Block; thence generally southerly to and along the western boundary of that block to Tawhitiraupeka Trig. Station; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 7, Block III, Waro Survey District, to the middle of the Mohakatino Stream; thence generally south-westerly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with an unnamed stream intersecting the Mohakatino Paraninihi 1D East Block; thence up the middle of that stream and along a right line to a point in the middle of the Mangaone Stream nearest the source of the said unnamed stream; thence up the middle of the Mangaone Stream to the western side of the Mohakatino Road; thence southerly along the western side of that road to the northern boundary of Section 6, Block VI, Waro
