Revocation of Appointment to Control and Manage and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the appointment of the Boy Scouts County of Canterbury Trust Board to control and manage and revokes the reservation as a site for a scout hall over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Appointment of Honorary Launch Warden

Pursuant to sections 7 and 265A of the Harbours Act 1950, the Secretary for Marine hereby appoints David Hedley McElrea to be an honorary launch warden for the purposes of the Harbours Act 1950.

The Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1966, Amendment No. 4

Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) 1966, Amendment No. 4, and shall be read together with and deemed to be part of the Control of Prices (Positive List) 1966* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  3. The principal notice is hereby amended as follows:

(i) By omitting “Nails, bright-steel wire, lead head, galvanised spring-head nails, galvanised clouts and nails, cement-coated nails, and finishing brads and panel pins.” under the general heading of HARDWARE, subheading Builders’, plumbers’, and electricians’ hardware.

(ii) By omitting “Brads, finishing and floor” under the general heading of HARDWARE, subheading Miscellaneous hardware.

(iii) By omitting “Bran” and “Pollard” from the list “Stock foods of the following kinds” under the general heading of FOODSTUFFS AND RELATED COMMODITIES, subheading Groceries.

(iv) By omitting “Bran” and “Pollard” under the general heading FOODSTUFFS AND RELATED COMMODITIES, subheading Groceries, and substituting the following: “Bran and Pollard, excluding bran and pollard sold by distributors and retailers.”

Open Season for Game in Acclimatisation Districts—North Island

IMPORTANT—The closed game areas published in the supplement, dated 26 March 1965 to the Gazette of 25 March 1965, and in any subsequent Gazette notice, apply to the 1968 open season for game, subject to any amendments thereto and deletions therefrom published in this notice.

This notice applies only to the open season for game in those acclimatisation districts which fall within the North Island.

Pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs declares an open season for game of the kinds specified in the acclimatisation districts specified in the Second Schedule hereto, and during the periods and shooting hours set forth in relation to each district, except in the closed game areas published in the supplement, dated 26 March 1965 to the Gazette of 25 March 1965, and any subsequent Gazette notice, and in this notice, and subject to the special conditions published in this notice; and hereby calls the attention of sportsmen and others to the daily game possession limits set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and to the provisions set forth or referred to in the Fourth Schedule of the supplement, dated 26 March 1965 to the Gazette of 25 March 1965. Any person hunting or killing game otherwise than in the terms of this notification (including the special conditions specified in relation to any acclimatisation district) is liable on conviction to a fine of $100.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Daily Game Possession Limit

Except where all game is labelled with the following details:

(a) The name and address of the person by whom the game was taken;

(b) The number of the licence to hunt or kill game held by the person by whom the game was taken;

(c) The name of the acclimatisation society by which that licence was issued; and

(d) The date on which the game was taken,

no person shall have in his possession on any one day game in excess of the following numbers:

Saturday, 4 May 1968: A number of game corresponding to the number specified in this notification as the daily bag limit in respect of grey, mallard, shoveler (or spoonbill), and paradise ducks.

Sunday, 5 May 1968: Twice the number of game specified for Saturday, 4 May 1968.

Every subsequent day: As for Saturday, 4 May 1968.

Special Conditions

  1. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Waikare any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, except within 200 yards of the margin of the said lake.

  2. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Ngaroto any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, except within 90 yards of the margin of the said lake.

  3. It shall be an offence for any person to wilfully leave any swan(s) shot or the mutilated bodies of any swan(s) shot in the Auckland Acclimatisation District.
