MINING ACT 1926

Ivy Kathleen Urquhart, home duties, and Constance
Barbara Urquhart, spinster, both of Hawea Flat, hereby give
notice that they will apply, by application No. 141/1967, to
the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell, at
10 a.m., on Tuesday, the 12th day of December 1967, for a
licence for a water race to divert two heads of water from
Lake Wanaka, at a point on the shore near the lake outlet
400 yards west of Survey Peg ORR VIIIA; then flowing
south for 120 yards across Section 59, Block XIV, Lower
Wanaka Survey District, being recreation reserve, to the
boundary of Section 6, Block XIV, Lower Wanaka Survey
District, on western side of surveyed road; by an 8" diameter
pipe for irrigation purposes. Term, 21 years; length, 120
yards; intended course, north to south.

Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining
Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to the applicants whose
address for service is at the office of Messrs Bodkin, Sunderland, and Depree, Solicitors, Tarbert Street, Alexandra, at
least three days before the above-mentioned time for hearing.

Ivy Kathleen Urquhart, home duties, and Constance
Barbara Urquhart, spinster, both of Hawea Flat, hereby give

outlet approximately 165 yards east of a lone poplar tree in
a fence on the shore of the lake near the intersection of

being Section 59, Block XIV, Lower Wanaka Survey District,
and into Section 2 of 5 of the said block, in the name of the
Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of
Lake; in a south by south-westerly direction up a deep
gully for 200 yards; then in a south-westerly direction for 150
yards across the said Section 2 of 5 to the boundary of
Section 1 of 5 of the said block, at a point approximately
200 yards south of the intersection of the said Sections 2
of 5 and 1 of 5 with the said Section 59; by a 6" diameter pipe
for irrigation purposes. Term, 21 years; length and intended
course, 350 yards being south by south-west for 200 yards
and south-west for 150 yards.

Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining
Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to the applicants whose

MINING ACT 1926

APPLICATION FOR WATER RACE LICENCE

I, Alistair Barclay Hall, of Ranfurly, farmer, hereby give
notice that I have applied for a licence for a water race
to divert six heads of water for irrigation and stock water
out of the Taieri River in Section 1, Block XIV, Maniototo
District, being Crown leasehold land occupied by the applicant;
running thence in a southerly direction for 200 yards and
terminating in the said Section 1.

The application and any objections thereto will be heard
on Tuesday, the 12th day of December 1967, at the Warden’s
Court at Cromwell, and all objections must be filed in the
Warden’s Court and notified to the applicant or his solicitors
at least three clear days before the time so appointed.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of
Representatives relating to Private Bills and in the matter of
a Private Bill intituled The Scout Association of New Zealand
Amendment Act 1967, notice is hereby given that The Boy
Scouts Association of New Zealand incorporated by The
Boy Scouts Association of New Zealand Act 1956 (hereinafter
referred to as “the Corporation”) intends to present a
petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament
assembled for the passing of the above-mentioned Bill.

The objects of the said Bill are:

(a) To alter the title of the said Act to “The Scout
Association of New Zealand Act 1956” and to provide that every reference to the short title of the said
Act in any enactment, rule, contract, agreement, deed,
instrument, or other document whatsoever be amended
by omitting the words “Boy Scouts” and substituting
the word “Scout”.

(b) To change the name of the Corporation to “The Scout
Association of New Zealand”.

(c) To provide that the said change of name shall not
affect any power, rights, interests, securities, investments, or obligations of the Corporation or
render defective any legal proceedings by or against
the Corporation and that all real and personal
property of every description held by the Corporation
may be dealt with or disposed of by the Corporation
under its new name, subject to all liabilities, charges,
obligations, and trusts affecting the same.

(d) To provide that on the presentation to any Registrar of
Deeds or District Land Registrar or any other person
of any instrument executed or purporting to be
executed under the Seal of the Corporation in its
new name and relating to any estate or interest in
any land held by the Corporation under its former
name be accepted by all persons concerned as conclusive proof that that estate or interest is vested
in the Corporation.

(e) To provide that except with the consent of the Governor-General in Council no association of persons shall
exercise the functions for which it is formed under
the name “Scout Association” or under a name
containing those words or the words “Scouts” or
“Boy Scouts”; to permit any registering authority
to refuse registration if prohibited by this provision;
to provide for penalties for any breach of this
provision provided that such provision shall not
apply to the Corporation or to any association of
persons that is a member of or is affiliated to the
Corporation or to any branch of such an association or
to any association registered before the passing of the
said Bill.

(f) To provide that the Governor-General, by notice in the
Gazette, may define the uniform of the officers and
members of the Corporation and the badges that may
be worn by such officers and members; to provide
that it shall not be lawful for any person who is not
an officer or member of the Corporation to wear any
such uniforms or badges, and to provide a penalty
for any breach of this provision.

(g) To repeal section 5 of the Military Decorations and
Distinctive Badges Act 1918.

The promoter of the Bill is the above named, The Boy
Scouts Association of New Zealand, whose address is care
of Messrs Luke, Cunningham, and Clere, Royal Insurance
Building, 166–68 Featherston Street, Wellington, to which
address all communications and notices may be sent.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on the 2nd day
of November 1967, and the Bill may be inspected at the offices
of Messrs Luke, Cunningham, and Clere, solicitors for the
promoter, at the address aforesaid.

DECLARATION BY THE REGISTRAR DISSOLVING A SOCIETY

I, Sydney Cecil Pavett, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated
Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to
appear to me that The First Church of Christ Scientist
Gisborne Trust Board (1935/1) is no longer carrying on its
operations, the said Board is hereby dissolved pursuant to
section 26 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957.
