Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

Pursuant to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities
Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant
Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to
the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance,
hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities
mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part
of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

National Roads Board—Notice Concerning the Stopping and
Parking of Vehicles on Roads

It is hereby notified that, pursuant to the National Roads
Board Bylaw 1958, No. 1*, the Board has, by resolution
carried at its meeting on 16 August 1967, prohibited the
stopping and parking of vehicles on those portions of State
highway described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

No. 2 State Highway Upper Hutt City:
A no-stopping restriction for 125 ft on the north-west side
commencing from a point 205 ft south of Gibbons Street,
Upper Hutt.

Varying Notice of Declaration of State Highways

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953,
the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval
of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice that it varies
the notice declaring public highways to be State highways,
dated 9 March 1960, published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960,
Volume 1, page 384, by deleting from the Schedule to the said
notice the paragraph described in the First Schedule hereto,
and substituting therefor the paragraph set out in the
Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

PARAGRAPH deleted from the South Island section of Part II
of the Schedule to the said notice.
Gore—No. 1 State Highway:
No. 1 State Highway from the Northern boundary of the
Borough of Gore along Hamilton Street, Oxford Street, Huron
Street, and Railway Esplanade over the Mataura River Bridge
and along Medway Street to the south-western boundary of
the borough.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Gore—No. 1 State Highway:
From the northern boundary of the Borough of Gore along
Railway Esplanade, over the Mataura Bridge and along
Medway Street to the south-western boundary of the borough.

Waiheke Road District—Alteration of Boundaries

Pursuant to section 36 of the Local Government Commission
Act 1961, it is hereby notified that the Local Government
Appeal Authority has fixed 2.15 p.m., on Monday, 13 Novem-
ber 1967, as the time, and the Council Chambers, Auckland
City Council, Auckland, as the place for the hearing of the
appeal by the Auckland Harbour Board against the final
scheme of the Local Government Commission, dated 27 April
1967, providing for the inclusion in the Waiheke Road District,
of all land lying between the present boundary of the Waiheke
Road District and low-water spring tide mark.

Tauranga County, Tauranga City—Alteration of Boundaries
(Matapihi Peninsula)

Pursuant to section 36 of the Local Government Commission
Act 1961, it is hereby notified that the Local Government
Appeal Authority has fixed 10 a.m., on Thursday, 16 November
1967, as the time, and the Board Room, Tauranga Power
Board, Spring Street, Tauranga, as the place for the hearing
of the appeal by the Mount Maunganui Borough Council
from the final scheme (No. III) of the Local Government
Commission, dated 19 June 1967, providing for the alteration
of the boundaries of Tauranga County and Tauranga City.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Pursuant to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the
Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as at the close
of business on Friday, 6 October 1967, and until further
notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by
each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when
added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes, as
disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of
banking statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not
less than the aggregate of: 7 percent of that bank’s demand
deposits in New Zealand, plus 3 percent of that bank’s time
deposits in New Zealand as shown in the last preceding
monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with
section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
