SPECIAL ORDER

THE Motueka Borough Council under and by virtue of and
in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it by the
Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, and all other powers and authorities enabling it in
that behalf hereby declares by special order that the following
plants mentioned in the First Schedule to the Noxious Weeds
Act 1950 are noxious weeds within the district of Motueka
Borough Council, namely:

FIRST SCHEDULE
Barley grass (Hordeum murinum)
Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis)
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus)
Californian thistle (Cirsium arvense)
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius)
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare)
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)
Giant buttercup (Ranunculus acer)
Goat’s rue (Galega officinalis)
Gorse (Ulex, any species)
Hakea (Hakea saligna, Hakea suaveolens, Hakea pubescens,
and Hakea acicularis)
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna)
Hemlock (Conium maculatum)
Lupin (Lupinus aboreus)
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum)
Prickly pear (Opuntia monacantha)
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea)
St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Scotch thistle or plume thistle (Cirsium lanceolatum)
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa)
Tauhinu or New Zealand cotton-wood (Cassinia leptophylla

Woolly nightshade (Solanum auriculatum)

Declaration of Result of Special General Poll on the Question
That Section 12 of the Electoral Act 1956 be Amended by
Changing the Term of the House of Representatives

PURSUANT to the Electoral Poll Act 1967, I hereby give notice
that at the special general poll taken on Saturday, the 23rd
day of September 1967, under the provisions of the said Act,
upon the proposal that section 12 of the Electoral Act 1956
be amended by changing the term of the House of Representatives, the total number of valid votes recorded throughout
New Zealand was:
For a maximum of three years as at present 678,960
For a maximum of four years ... ... ... 317,973

I hereby declare that as the total number of valid votes
recorded in favour of a maximum of three years as at
present exceeds the total number of valid votes recorded in
favour of a maximum of four years, the determination of the
electors is in favour of a maximum of three years as at
present.

Declaration of Result of Special General Poll on the Question
of the Hours Appointed for the Sale and Disposal of Liquor
in Hotels, Taverns, and Chartered Clubs

PURSUANT to the Sale of Liquor Poll Act 1967, I hereby give
notice that at the special general poll taken on Saturday, the
23rd day of September 1967, under the provisions of the said
Act, upon the proposal that provision be made changing the
hours appointed for the sale and disposal of liquor in hotels,
taverns, and chartered clubs, the total number of valid votes
recorded throughout New Zealand was:
For 6 p.m. closing as at present ... ... ... 353,662
For later closing ... ... ... ... ... 641,105

I hereby declare that as the total number of valid votes
recorded in favour of later closing exceeds the total number
of valid votes recorded in favour of 6 p.m. closing as at
present, the determination of the electors is in favour of later
closing.
