Boundaries of Devonport Borough and Takapuna City Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of October 1967

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order shall take effect on the 1st day of April 1968.
  2. The area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the district of Devonport Borough and included in the district of Takapuna City.
  3. The area described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the district of Takapuna City and included in the district of Devonport Borough.
  4. The alterations of the boundaries of the said Borough and City hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area containing 3 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 44524, distant 30.29 links from the southernmost corner of that lot, and proceeding along a right line bearing 75° 00′ to its intersection with the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 30904, and south-westerly along that boundary to and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 44524 to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that area containing 3 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 30904, being the intersection of that boundary with a line bearing 75° 00′ from a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 44524, distant 30.29 links from the southernmost corner of that lot, and proceeding along a right line bearing 75° 00′ to the south-western side of Lake Road, and northerly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 38166; thence southerly along another right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 30904, and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that lot to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of County of Masterton and County of Wairarapa South Altered

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. This order shall take effect on 1 November 1967.
  2. The areas described in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Wairarapa South and included in the County of Masterton.
  3. The areas described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Masterton and included in the County of Wairarapa South.
  4. The alteration of the boundaries of the said Counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

FIRST SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 79 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block XIV, Otahoua S.D., and proceeding north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that section to the north-eastern boundary of Section 54, Tupurupuru District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 54 and 62, Tupurupuru District, to the southern boundary of Section 1 aforesaid; thence generally westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Secondly, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 91 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of Westmere Road in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Westmere Settlement, in Block XIV, Otahoua S.D., and proceeding north-easterly along the middle of that road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 77, Tupurupuru District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Sections 77 and 76, Tupurupuru District, and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 76 to the south-western boundary of Section 1 aforesaid; thence north-westerly along that boundary and its production to the point of commencement.

Thirdly, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 28 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Kuamahanga Stream and on the southern boundary of Section 7, Westmere Settlement, in Block III, Wainuioru S.D., and proceeding north-westerly down the middle of that stream to and south-westerly down the middle of the Wainuioru River to the southern boundary of Section 7 aforesaid; thence generally easterly along the generally southern boundaries of that section to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 57 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of Westmere Road in line with the northern boundary of Section 2, Block XIV, Otahoua S.D., and proceeding south-westerly along the middle of that road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 77, Tupurupuru District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 77 and 62, Tupurupuru District, to the northern boundary of Section 2 aforesaid; thence generally easterly along that boundary and its production to the point of commencement.

Secondly, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 103 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-eastern boundary of Section 76, Tupurupuru District, with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Westmere Settlement, in Block XV, Otahoua S.D., and proceeding generally southerly along the generally eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 11, Westmere Settlement, to the middle of the Wainuioru River; thence generally north-westerly down the middle of that river and an old course of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 79, Tupurupuru District; thence north-easterly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 79 and 76, Tupurupuru District, to the point of commencement.

Extending the Time Within Which the Commission of Inquiry Into Disaster at Strongman Mine May Report

THOMAS McGHIE, M.B.E., Retired District Manager of State Coal Mines; and
ANTONIO VALLI PRENDIVILLE, President, United Mine Workers:

GREETING:

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, by Order in Council dated the 13th day of February 1967*, you were appointed to be a commission to inquire into and report upon the cause of the disaster which occurred at the Strongman Mine, on the 19th day of January 1967, and matters incidental thereto:

And whereas such commission was by the said Order in Council required to submit its report not later than the 1st day of August 1967:

And whereas such date was extended to the 2nd day of October 1967†:

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be further extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby extend until the 2nd day of November 1967, the time within which you are so required to report, without prejudice to the continuation of the liberty conferred upon you by the said Order in Council to report your proceedings and recommendations from time to time if you should judge it expedient so to do, and do hereby confirm the said Order in Council and the commission thereby constituted, save as modified by these presents.

Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 2nd day of October 1967.
