Directing the Revision of District Valuation Rolls

At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of September 1967
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the District Valuation Rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at 1 October 1967.
SCHEDULE
Boroughs: Kaikohe, Cambridge, Paeroa, Oamaru, Mosgiel, Otaki, Carterton, Kumara.
Counties: Mangonui, Ohinemuri, Stratford, Geraldine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 50 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
1.(1) This order may be cited as the Whakatane High School Board of Governors Order 1967.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1968.
2. The Whakatane High School Board of Governors shall be constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the South Auckland Education Board;
(b) Eight members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school.
3. The Whakatane High School Board of Governors Order 1962, is hereby revoked.

Officers of Government of Ross Dependency Appointed

WHEREAS, by the Order in Council dated the 30th day of July 1923*, made under the British Settlements Act 1887 of the United Kingdom Parliament, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand for the time being (thereinafter and hereinafter called the Governor) was appointed to be the Governor of the Ross Dependency, and all the powers and authorities which by the said order were given and granted to the Governor for the time being of the Dependency were thereby vested in him:
And whereas the Governor was thereby further authorised and empowered to make all such rules and regulations as might lawfully be made by Her Majesty's authority for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency:
And whereas, by regulations made by the Governor on the 14th day of November 1923β , it was enacted that all persons appointed by the Governor for the time being of the Dependency should have such power and authority as might be granted them in due course of law, and might be empowered to do such things as might be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws in force in the Dependency are duly observed and complied with in every respect, and to do all things necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and preserve Her Majesty's rights and sovereignty over and in respect of the Dependency:
And whereas it is expedient that the persons hereinafter named be appointed officers of the Government of the Dependency:
Now therefore, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Ross Dependency, hereby appoint
William James Webb, Esquire,
as an officer of the Government of the Dependency; and I hereby confer on him all the powers and authorities which may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities which may be so exercised by a Coroner.
And I also appoint
George Robert Edlin, Esquire,
as an officer of the Government of the Dependency; and I hereby confer on him all the powers and authorities which may be exercised in New Zealand by a Postmaster.
The said William James Webb and the said George Robert Edlin to exercise their functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by the officer for the time being appointed as an officer of the Government of the Dependency in whom is vested the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty's rights and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the Dependency; and to hold office and exercise the duties thereof during pleasure.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 28th day of September 1967.

Exempting Land in the Westland Land Registration District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
ALL that parcel of land containing 24 perches, more or less, situate in the Borough of Runanga, being Lot 24, Block 1, Deposited Plan 148 (Town of Dunollie), and being part section 4, Square 124, Block III, Cobden Survey District, reserving and excepting to the Bank of New South Wales, its successors and assigns, the right to the minerals beneath the surface of the above described lot with full power and authority to work, hew, and get the said minerals by underground workings without entering upon or in any manner affecting or exercising any rights or powers whatsoever in or over the surface of the said land. This land is described in certificate of title, Volume 43, folio 8 (2A/952).
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 21st day of September 1967.
