Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Revocation of Appointments of Approvals to Issue Warrants of Fitness

PURSUANT to regulation 52 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes, as from Monday, 25 September 1967, all appointments or approvals for the issue of warrants of fitness for motor vehicles (other than appointment or approval issued to officers of the Crown) heretofore made or given, as the case may be, in terms of the said regulations, for any person or firm whose place of examination for the purpose of issue of warrants of fitness is situated within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

The whole of the City of Napier.

Roads Excluded From Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrants under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 10th day of September 1951†, and the 5th day of October 1961‡, and which relate to roads within Pukekohe Borough are hereby revoked.

  2. All the roads in Pukekohe Borough with the exception of those roads contained in the area specified in the First Schedule hereto, are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Pukekohe Borough:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point where the south-western side of No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Te Uku) meets the north-western side of Kayes Road; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to the point where the south-eastern side of Birdwood Road meets the north-eastern side of Beattys Road; thence across Birdwood Road at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence south-westerly generally across Beattys Road and along the north-western side of Birdwood Road across Helvetia Road to the western side of Helvetia Road; thence south-easterly generally across Birdwood Road to the south-western side of Helvetia Road at the point where it meets the south-eastern side of Birdwood Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to the point where the north-eastern side of Puriri Road meets the north-western side of Princes Street West; thence across Princes Street West at right angles from its north-western side to its south-eastern side; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the north-western side of Victoria Street 10 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said street from Helvetia Road; thence south-easterly generally by a right line across Victoria Street and West Road to a point on the south-eastern side of West Road 10 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said roadside from Helvetia Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of Beresford Street 12 chains measured easterly generally along the said roadside from Wellington Street; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Ward Street 3 chains measured easterly generally along the said roadside from Puni Road; thence across Ward Street at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the western side of Green Lane 8 chains measured southerly generally along Green Lane from Ward Street; thence across Green Lane at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of Kitchener Road West 10 chains measured westerly generally along the said roadside from Wellington Street; thence southerly generally by a right line to the western end of Routley Avenue; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the western side of Anzac Road 20 chains measured southerly generally along the said roadside from Kitchener Road West; thence across Anzac Road at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the western side of Queen Street 16 chains measured southerly generally along the said roadside from Kitchener Road West; thence across Queen Street at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly generally by a right line across Tuakau Road to a point on the north-eastern side of Tuakau Road 10 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said roadside from Kitchener Road East; thence north-westerly generally along the said roadside to the south-eastern side of Kitchener Road East; thence across Kitchener Road East at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to the point where the south-eastern side of Nelson Street meets the south-western side of John Street South; thence across John Street South at right angles from its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence across Nelson Street at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the western side of No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Te Uku) 10 chains measured southerly generally along the said highway from Glasgow Street; thence north-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Birch Road one chain measured easterly generally along the said roadside from Station Road; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to the eastern end of Carlton Road; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of East Street opposite the eastern side of Valley Road; thence northerly generally across East Street and along the eastern side of Valley Road to a point 13 chains measured northerly generally along the said roadside from East Street; thence north-westerly generally by a right line across Valley Road to the northern end of Prospect Terrace; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the eastern side of Franklin Road 12 chains measured northerly generally along the said roadside from East Street; thence across Franklin Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence north-westerly generally by a right line to the point where the southern side of Cape Hill Road meets the eastern side of No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Te Uku); thence north-westerly generally across Cape Hill Road and along the north-eastern side of No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Te Uku) to a point opposite the commencing point; thence across the said highway to the commencing point.

SECOND SCHEDULE

VICTORIA Street West (from a point 10 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Helvetia Road to the western boundary of Pukekohe Borough).

West Road (from a point 10 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Helvetia Road to Jutland Road).

Jutland Road (from Victoria Street West to McNally Road).

Puni Road (from McNally Road to the western boundary of Pukekohe Borough).
