THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

of all land in the subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area outside the Kaitaia Town District, the general rates described in the Second Schedule hereto, to meet maintenance costs for the period from 1 April 1967 to 31 March 1968.

The amount of such rates, together with the amount of the annually recurring special rates already made and levied, will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1967.

The rate book of the area will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Customs Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of the same may be inspected at the office of the Lands and Survey Department, Kaitaia, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

FIRST SCHEDULE

TOWN SUBDIVISION

ON the unimproved value of all lands within the Kaitaia Town District, one thousand and forty-two ten-thousandths of a cent (0.1042 cents) in the dollar.

SECOND SCHEDULE

RURAL SUBDIVISION

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, twenty cents and sixty-six one-hundredths of a cent (20.66 cents) in the dollar.

CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, seven cents and twenty-three one-hundredths of a cent (7.23 cents) in the dollar.

CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, three cents and ten one-hundredths of a cent (3.10 cents) in the dollar.

SPECIAL ORDER

ABOLITION OF RIDING ACCOUNTS

Thursday, 16 March 1967

THAT, in the matter of the Counties Act 1956, the Peninsula County Council does hereby resolve so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council, that under the provisions of section 109 of the said Act, that the provisions of section 107 (levying of general rate separately in each riding) shall cease to apply, and that the provisions of sections 105 and 106 shall be adopted in lieu thereof. (Namely, making and levying general rate over the County as a whole.)

Thursday, 20 April 1967

THAT, the resolution of the Council passed on Thursday, 16 March 1967, and as duly advertised in the Otago Daily Times, on 23 March 1967, page 20, and 6 April 1967, page 20, be now confirmed and shall operate as a special order, and that the Chairman and the County Clerk be and are hereby authorised to affix the Common Seal of the County to the special order.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955*, the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes the Warrants dated the 1st day of July 1961† and the 26th day of August 1965‡, as relate to the classification of roads in Manukau City described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby approves the Manukau City Council’s proposed classification of the said roads as set out in the said Schedule.

WHEREAS, by virtue of the notice described in the First Schedule hereto, the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is now subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, and it is desired to vary the same:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Waikato Development Scheme Amending Notice 1967, No. 4.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
